Ghostty 1.4 is now out! Full Kitty graphics with animation (the first terminal besides Kitty to do it), scrollback compression for much lower memory usage, macOS 27 support, a new OpenGL renderer on Linux, ghostty +ssh, big performance gains, and hundreds more changes. The highlights: - Scrollback compression: scrollback compresses ~90+% on average, meaning your terminals use that much less live memory - Huge memory savings across the board: no single large thing, just lots of good improvements lowers memory usage everywhere, netting anywhere from 50 to 90% less memory usage depending on workload - Kitty graphics is now 100% complete, including animation and relative placements, after a full conformance pass against the spec and Kitty itself - The Kitty clipboard protocol, with an image preview when a program asks to read your clipboard - Split drag and drop on Linux, including between windows - ghostty +ssh installs terminfo on remote hosts automatically, so things just work over SSH - Lots of terminal emulation accuracy fixes This release is 7 months of work from 172 contributors over 2,889 commits. It also fixes 10 security advisories, so please update. Full release notes: ghostty.org/docs/install/rel…

Developers built Google Docs and Figma so others wouldn't lose work, then ironically kept using decades-old tools that let us lose our own. @conradirwin explains how DeltaDB uses CRDTs to sync every keystroke so no work is lost. delta.dev/blog/future-of-ver…

Application ✅ Intelligent, we're trying! Thank you @MadronaVentures!
Six years ago, we launched the #IA40 to track an emerging category: applied AI. This year's winners are proving that intelligent applications aren't emerging anymore; they're the infrastructure of the next enterprise software cycle. The 2026 Intelligent Applications 40 features companies harnessing AI to deliver real, provable value, not just capability. Congratulations to all of this year's winners, and we’re so proud to celebrate your work on one of the world's biggest stages. Half-bounce club! ⚡
I love how many people are attaching to the "half-bounch" startup time metric. I used to do paid macOS dev ~20 years ago and most macOS devs I knew then used the bounce metric! Back then multiple bounces was the norm due to HDDs. One bounce really wasn't possible until SSDs. We've lost this obsession and its time to bring it back.

The transcript and the code should live together. With Delta, you and your agents can easily understand how the code evolved. Sign up for early access: zed.dev/deltadb
Replying to @simonw
When you're working with coding agents the transcript becomes one of the most significant artifacts of the work you are doing, I think recording those is just as important (if not more so) than maintaining good commit messages and issues for tracking your decisions over time
