Canada should not alter our stated goal to diversify international trades away from the United States. Part of the reason why some US politicians are now calling for lifting the tariffs on Canada is due to their concern that Canada is starting to drift away from US sphere of influence, not just because the tariffs are a tax on US consumers.
The moment we show that we are amenable to change our mind, that leverage we now have will disappear.
At the end of the day, US politics are simply too volatile. Nothing has materially changed regarding the untrustworthiness of US politicians or their longstanding expansionist policy.
We must continue to chart our own course.

Last night, Americans made a clear call for accountability and affordability.
A body politic cannot recover until its harms have been treated and its wounds have been healed. Crimes against our people and our Constitution must be answered for. The historic abuses of the last two years must be prevented from happening again.
American families should be able to thrive, not just survive. Every child should have the chance to live up to his or her full potential. The American Dream must be more than a mirage.

The UCP-appointees to the UCP's boundary panel have donated thousands of dollars to the UCP and other conservative parties.
Former Conservative MP Monte Solberg has donated $2,883 this year, including money donated while he sat on Danielle Smith's election map panel.
This whole process is deeply disrespectful to Albertans. We all deserve fair elections and maps that are created by a truly independent process, with public consultation.
