🚨@NEUnion teacher members in England agree to accept progress made on pay and funding and to end industrial action. 🚨
"As a democratic union, the NEU leadership promised members that any pay and funding offer given by Government that warranted their consideration would be put to them. Members have spoken very clearly and in great numbers." @cyclingkev and @MaryBoustedNEU.

Arrangements for announcing the ballot results tomorrow
We have to wait until we get the certified result on the re-ballot from Civica.
We expect to get that mid morning but can’t be sure. – at Portsmouth, England

Dear current Government,
Please don’t employ experts to review what you should be paying us and then ignore them when, surprise, surprise, they find that you should be paying more than you’re willing to pay.
Your last pay offer was an insult to us hardworking professionals.
Last week we took to the streets again in our tens of thousands as we continue to let the public know about the crisis in education.
We will not back down until we get what we deserve.

Thank you.
Our re-ballot is still open – vote now.

They are rumoured to have recommended 6%

The NEU is calling two days of strike on Wed 5 July and Fri 7 July.
A big reason we are striking this term is that we suspect Gillian Keegan intends not even to implement the 6.5% leaked from the STRB report.

Today, the @NEUnion will be giving evidence to the school teachers’ review body (STRB) which makes recommendations to Govt on the pay.
They’ll be telling them about their experiences and why teachers need a fair, fully funded pay rise.
RT to show your support. #SaveOurSchools

In our new survey, two thirds of teachers (64%) said they worry about the impact of workload and stress levels on their wellbeing. It’s not hard to see why Govt is not meeting its recruitment targets.
We need action from @GillianKeegan to resolve this. #SaveOurSchools #NEU2023
