GOATed team of patriots 🇮🇳 Three Operation Vijay veterans now building the autonomy the next fight will need.
If you were around in 1999, chances are you remember mornings that looked like this. For nearly ten weeks that summer, India fought one of its toughest military campaigns across the rugged heights of Kargil. Twenty-seven years later, its legacy remains as relevant as ever. Kargil was more than a battle for strategic peaks. It was a defining moment that reaffirmed India's resolve to protect every inch of its sovereign territory. Through Operation Vijay on the ground and Operation Safed Sagar in the skies, the Indian Armed Forces demonstrated what joint-force warfare, unwavering courage, and absolute commitment to the mission truly look like. Over the years, books, documentaries, and films have attempted to capture the spirit of Kargil. They have given us a glimpse into the extraordinary realities of war—from soldiers scaling near-vertical cliffs under relentless fire to Indian Air Force pilots flying combat missions through the rarefied air at 30000 feet! Every sortie demanded precision. Every decision carried consequences. But Kargil is more than a story to remember. It is a lesson to carry forward. At NewSpace, that lesson is deeply personal. Our Co-Founder & CEO, @joe_sameer , known by his nick name Joe, served during the Kargil War (You can spot Sameer on the newspaper clip attached). His experiences during the 1999 war did not remain confined to the battlefield—they became part of the foundation principles of NewSpace. Those principles continue to shape how we think, build, and deliver at NS. Behind NS’ strong foundation stands another aviator, Commodore @JA_Maolankar, NM (Retd.)—whose distinguished career spans over 35 years in Indian Naval Aviation and Flight Testing, including service during the Kargil conflict (clip attached). Today, as Executive Vice President – Technology Development, he continues to serve the nation by advancing autonomous technologies that strengthen India's military capabilities. That legacy extends beyond aviators. NS’ Head of Business Development & Sales, @NavlaniNaveen is also a veteran of Operation Vijay in the Batalik sector, carrying the perspective of a soldier into every capability delivered to the frontlines. Every autonomous system, every AI-enabled capability, and every mission-ready platform we develop is rooted in a simple belief: tomorrow's battlefields demand technologies informed by yesterday's realities. On #KargilVijayDiwas, we recommit ourselves to the heroes we lost, the veterans who returned, and every soldier who continues to guard our borders. We will continue to build for your mission. सेवा परमो धर्मः | Service Before Self Jai Hind!

The future of airpower will be defined by a systematic strategy of denial—where scale, autonomy, and resilience outweigh traditional measures of air superiority. In his latest paper, our CEO Sameer Joshi distils one unmissable lesson from Operation Sindoor, where unmanned systems at scale—led by Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA)—will be critical to augmenting fighter squadrons, addressing force structure shortfalls, and redefining air combat in contested environments. @joe_sameer Find out more: lnkd.in/dS9iNucP

Grateful to Shri Tejasvi Surya, Member of Parliament, Bengaluru South, for inviting us and facilitating a meaningful interaction with the a delegation from the National Institute of Defence Studies - NIDS (#NIDS) led by President Manabu Imakyurei and Senior Researcher Izuyama Marie who met our COO, Julius Amrit. During the meeting, ideas on strengthening the growing India-Japan partnership across diverse sectors, including national security and innovation in defence technologies were deliberated upon and a roadmap envisaged. NewSpace Research and Technologies is committed to support our Japanese partners in co-developing #cuttingedge Aerospace & Defence technologies for future warfare needs. Engagements like these reinforce the importance of collaboration between policymakers, defence stakeholders, and deep-tech innovators in co-creating capabilities for the future. #IndiaJapanPartnership
Today, during my meeting with a delegation from the National Institute for Defence Studies (NIDS), I had also invited Bengaluru-based startups working in the defence and space sector for a conversation. 1. NewSpace Research & Technologies (Julius Amrit, COO) is providing next-generation unmanned aerial platforms and swarm drone systems for real-time surveillance and precision tracking. 2. Digantara (Shreyas Mirji, VP) is delivering space situational awareness data to monitor orbital debris and support secure communication pathways for the Indian Armed Forces. 3. Pixxel (Awais Ahmed, CEO) is supplying hyperspectral satellite imagery for high-resolution terrain mapping and verification of remote infrastructure targets. 4. Accord Software & Systems (Manjunath VS) has developed India’s first indigenous GNSS chipset, enabling NavIC-based positioning and timing solutions. With over three decades of collaboration with ISRO and DRDO, its GNSS, NavIC, and electronic warfare systems are used across multiple sectors. All in all, our startups are working towards Atmanirbharta advancing deep-tech innovation and strengthening indigenous ecosystem. @NS_FutureReady @Digantarahq @PixxelSpace

Good to see the Sheshnaag-150 swarming attack drone tested in Pokhran today. Final seconds captured here. Obviously no warhead, if you're wondering about explosion. Was launched out to a 700 km range (max: 1,000 km). Congratulations, @NS_FutureReady & @joe_sameer!
