At the end of the presser, Mr attention to detail congratulated one of our press correspondents, @TomCantonMedia who just returned from paternity leave on his new born “Tom, Congratulations eh, it’s a girl yeah?” Tom confirms. Then he goes “Good, I could never make one…only boys” 😂❤️

I find articles like this hilarious. They're written as though there's this thing happening that we can't explain. Look at the data... quiet quitting is particularly pronounced among Gen Z and younger millennials. Then look at the backdrop to their careers. These people have watched their futures being spent on bailouts, lockdowns and furlough. Even if you work extremely hard and earn promotions (which is far from guaranteed), wages in the UK are so crap, and the cost of living so high, that the rewards often amount to very little. The extra pay can be negligible. The extra effort and responsibility are not. And if you've worked hard, trained and made your way up the greasy corporate pole, there's a good chance you've watched entry-level wages creep ever closer to yours. You might reasonably be asking yourself why you bothered in the first place. Since the pandemic began, the National Living Wage has increased by nearly 55%. If you're someone with years of experience, training, progression and hard work under your belt, and your wages haven't kept pace, why wouldn't you question the value of all that effort? The incentive has been inverted. This is wage compression, and we're now witnessing the second- and third-order effects governments seem so oblivious to. When the financial reward for taking on more responsibility diminishes, so does the incentive to do it. And this is what's happening. People are moving the dial they actually have control over… how much they give a shit about their job. And I don't blame them. I think people are also starting to realise that much of the reward for their hard work is swallowed up by the ever-growing, increasingly wasteful blob that is the British state. It's like having someone sitting on your shoulders, stealing half your food, getting heavier by the day, and repeatedly slapping you around the face as you try to go about your life.

GBGB is supporting efforts to locate a greyhound that went missing after slipping its lead at Clackett Lane Services (Tandridge, TN16 2ER) yesterday. We would be grateful if those living in the surrounding area could share this post to help raise awareness and support the search. Thank you for your assistance. 🔗 tinyurl.com/5xmjd2eb

I looked them up and they appear to be at the Pima Animal Care Center (PACC) in Tucson, Arizona. If you adopt both of these dogs together — or any animal from this center — I will pay for a month's worth of pet food and help you find a good pair of pants. 24petconnect.com/PimaAdoptab…
Saw something very cute at the shelter today

Two advertising hoardings taken over with tributes to Ken Friar here outside the Emirates including his quote: “My life and my heart is and remains with Arsenal.” RIP to a true Arsenal man. PS: A nice touch to run his line in the new Rocastle font

Ken would call me every December to wish my family and I a happy Christmas . What a class act he was - the epitomisation of all that Arsenal stands for: Victory Through Togetherness.

Ken Friar: an extraordinary figure in Arsenal's history. Seven decades at the club, starting as a messenger boy (earning 12p per week) and rising through the ranks. "I have always felt that people like me are custodians of the heritage," he said in 2011. telegraph.co.uk/football/202…

A full Arsenal man. Represents the best of this club. Incredibly sad news. My dad loved his story of when he’d telephone into Highbury to buy tickets and Ken picked up the phone and sorted the tickets out!
It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Life President Ken Friar OBE. Since our formation in 1886, there have been many inspirational individuals who have driven our club forward, but no one has had an influence on Arsenal Football Club quite like ‘Mr Friar’ and he leaves an extraordinary life of service to the club as his legacy. One that will surely never be matched. Rest in peace ❤️

A truly sad day. An incredible servant to Arsenal. His story with the club, from the very start, is just remarkable. Total dedication. RIP.

Being a single woman over 40 with no parental safety net means knowing that your emergency fund isn't just money in the bank. It's your security, your independence, and sometimes the only thing standing between you and a crisis. There's no one to call when the car breaks down, no parents to help when an unexpected bill arrives, and no guaranteed safety net if you lose your job or get sick. Every emergency is yours to handle. Every decision carries weight. And every dollar you save represents a little more peace of mind in a world where you know you have to be your own backup plan. People with family they can fall back on don't always understand the mental load of knowing that if everything falls apart, you're the one who has to put the pieces back together. It's exhausting having to be strong, responsible, and financially prepared for every possible worst-case scenario. So here's to the women building their own safety nets, saving what they can, figuring things out as they go, and quietly carrying responsibilities nobody else sees. Shoutout to every woman who has had to become her own safety net, her own rescue plan, and her own hero. You deserve more than just survival. You deserve to feel safe, too. ❤️
