Have said this for a while and couldn't agree more. Replay exists for a reason. While officials get a lot right in real time, they get plenty wrong. They make their best judgement but slow mo replay at multiple angles should be the "better" objective truth in most situations.
I’ve said for years the idea that replay has to defer to the call on the field is the fundamental flaw with replay
Once a play is sent to replay it should be as if no call on the field even exists and replay should make the best available call with the evidence they have
Why are we deferring to the call on the field which is just as likely to be wrong as it is right? There’s no logic in it
The idea of looking to overturn or not is the wrong goal. The goal of replay should be the same goal we use in real time: make the best possible call

Absolute garbage. Trying to make March Madness out of college football. Greedy bastards ruin everything.

Of course Lanning has to own this loss and he will.
But the idea that a coach who's won almost 50 games in his first 4 seasons doesn't know how to coach anymore is unserious. Something is clearly wrong. Maybe it's the coordinators. Players. Coaches. Who knows. He's got to figure it out. Being out on Lanning is so foolish.
Worst loss in the history of Oregon considering the expectations. The season isn't over but the margins just got razor thin. Not sure promoting both coordinators was the best move and the O-line is a bigger project than expected. What an embarrassing start to the season.

Kobe 18-20 FT 90% (Bam 36-43 83.7%)
Just wildly different. Shameless. #NotMy80Plus
Looks like he wanted 4 of 4.

If he wanted to get 0 of the 4 things he requested for a new team, then yes, we could see Mike Evans in Cleveland.

I joined the army when I was 17-years-old and have taken care of myself my entire life without any financial help from anyone - so I’m immune to all the crying.
When I was broke, which was many years, I ate peanut butter sandwiches for weeks. If that.
I was even homeless, one time living in a tent by a lake for months.
Not once during this time, did I think the government was responsible, or look to the government for solutions, or blame rich people. Or ask for a handout.
Every bad place I’ve been in my life is because of bad decisions I’ve made.
It was my fault and my fault alone.
I’m financially successful now because of hard work.
People who constantly blame others because they’re not successful, will never be succeed.
Stop whining, stop looking for the government handouts and solutions to save you, stop being jealous of successful people, go to work, and figure it out.

🚨 WHEN FEELINGS KILL COMMON SENSE
Being nice isn’t bad... until it breaks your country.
Some people care so much about everyone’s feelings, they forget about facts, safety, and their own neighbors.
This is called suicidal empathy. Basically, being so compassionate it turns self-destructive. Sounds wild, but it’s real.
Gad Saad says we’re overloaded with emotion, treating every stranger like family, even criminals or enemies, because it feels good.
But feelings aren’t policies, and this kind of kindness is backfiring hard.
Take U.S. borders: in 2023, a record 2.5 million illegal crossings swamped the system.
It’s not just overcrowding. Over 15,000 non-citizens were arrested for serious crimes in one year.
Fentanyl smuggling? Also up. And guess what? Those costs hit taxpayers: $150 billion a year, enough to help veterans or disaster victims.
But sure, let's keep pretending open borders are just "nice."
Then there's the “defund the police” mess. Meant to help communities, it led to fewer arrests and way more murders. A 70% jump in Minneapolis alone.
The people hurt most? The same communities it claimed to protect.
Bonus chaos: in the UK, people got arrested for tweets. That’s where feelings-over-facts leads.
DEI programs? Started with good intentions. Now they’re breaking schools and jobs.
A Forbes study said they mostly help rich elites, not everyday people. Harvard’s diversity policies even lowered team performance by 12%.
In companies, DEI training actually made bias worse. All because we’re scared to say, “Let’s hire the best person.”
It gets worse. All this empathy-for-everyone has made people stop trusting each other... down 20% since 2000.
This isn’t about being heartless. It’s about using your brain with your heart.
It's called “reasoned empathy,” where compassion meets common sense.
Help people, yes... but stop lighting your own house on fire to keep others warm.

Good take here.
I have no doubt LSU will call Dan Lanning.
I would be shocked if Lanning left Oregon.
Lanning has everything he needs in Eugene to win national championships, including the country's best facilities for coaches and players, a near-limitless booster trough to draw from, and a 100% dedicated college town and state to compete in.
Having the SEC recruiting and competition mindset on the Coast, which Lanning has, is an enormous advantage for him.
But maybe the most psychologically important aspect of it all is this: CFB hasn't had a new national champion since 1996 and Oregon is probably the number-one contender to break that curse.
Lanning can build a monster legacy on near-virgin soil and essentially stand alone when the histories are written.

Dan Lanning had much to say postgame about his team's play, good and bad, but it was all overshadowed by his impassioned words about the state of our culture domestically in light of the Charlie Kirk shooting.
