These goals may seem to conflict, but I believe they do not. Offering a positive vision for the future of all Americans and opposing anti-American bigotry are equally essential to earning the trust and support of the American people. If you are a loyal Democratic voter in Michigan looking for a way to oppose the extremism of both Donald Trump and Abdul El-Sayed, consider this compromise: Leave the Senate race blank on your ballot or vote for the Republican, Mike Rogers. Then contribute to patriotic Democrats running for the Senate in swing states such as James Talarico in Texas, Adam Hamilton in Kansas, and Mary Peltola in Alaska. We Democrats can do the right thing by standing up to the Trump administration, supporting patriotic Democratic candidates, and opposing dangerous anti-American bigots like Abdul El-Sayed.
