What’s happening with GTA 6 right now sucks, but the game is only 39 days away, gonna be the best time of our lives
I’m also stopping coverage of this asshole
For your own mental well being, I recommend staying off social media platforms, or at least just viewing these lists only on X to avoid spoilers

We're releasing pplx-embed-v2-late, two late-interaction embedding models that retrieve text, images, and pages with a shared embedding space for cross-model querying.
Both models achieve frontier performance and are publicly available on Hugging Face.

the AI slowdown debate is starting to matter for investors.
semiconductor stocks took a hit as markets questioned whether slower model development could mean slower infrastructure spending.
i’m watching $NVDA, $AMD and the data-center names closely. a change in capex expectations would hit earnings estimates pretty quickly.
Semiconductor stocks have been pressured as investors debate whether AI development could slow infrastructure spending, with Nvidia and other chipmakers falling recently.

got annoyed re-typing the same commit message structure every day. automated it.
built a tiny git hook that runs a saved prompt against my staged diff and drafts the commit message, i just edit instead of writing from scratch.
action: add a prepare-commit-msg hook in .git/hooks, have it call your model of choice with the diff as input, output feeds straight into the commit message field.
pro: turns "write a commit message" into "fix two words," most days.
con: it'll happily write a confident, wrong summary if your diff is messy, always read before committing.
not a big automation. just one less blank text box every day.

every keynote demo:
“just tell the agent what you want.”
then you use it in the real world and suddenly there’s setup, permissions, edge cases and 14 tabs open.
the gap between the demo and reality is basically the whole job.

the actual mechanism is the smart part, they don't sell leaks directly, they profit from transaction fees on a coin they created, which means every new leak just needs to keep the coin relevant, not sell footage outright. that's a much harder trail to prosecute than a straightforward data sale

microsoft copilot : researcher agent (multi-model)
the problem
assumed copilot was locked to gpt models only, one company's tool, one company's ai.
the fix
microsoft's Researcher agent inside 365 Copilot now runs Claude alongside GPT, officially, as a subprocessor. Council mode lets you compare both models' answers side by side on the same question, Critique mode uses Claude to refine a GPT response.
action
open Microsoft 365 Copilot → Agents → Researcher → ask your research question → if Council/Critique is enabled for your org, you'll see the model comparison option before the final report generates
tradeoff
pro: you get a second model's opinion on the same question without leaving the app or paying for a separate claude subscription.
con: rollout is gradual and admin-controlled, full availability wasn't expected until end of march 2026, so it may not be live for your org yet, check with your admin before assuming it's there.
takeaway
the "which ai company do i pick" question is getting less relevant when the tools themselves stop picking just one.

deepseek
the problem
been paying api costs on a side project chat feature, assumed that's just what it costs.
the fix
deepseek's chat interface is free with unlimited messages, and its api is priced dramatically below the big US labs, often cited in the tens-of-times-cheaper range per million tokens versus flagship models. the models are also open-weight, so you can self-host if you want zero api cost at all.
how to
action: go to chat.deepseek.com for free unlimited chat, no card needed. for building something real, sign up for api access, new accounts get a free token grant to test before you pay anything.
tradeoff
pro: genuinely frontier-competitive on coding and reasoning benchmarks for a fraction of the cost.
con: it's a chinese company, hosted infra, so if data residency/privacy is a dealbreaker for your project, check their policy before routing real user data through it. pricing tiers and model names have also shifted more than once this year, always check the live docs before you build on a number you saw in an article.
takeaway
didn't need to keep eating api costs I assumed were fixed. worth 10 minutes to actually check.

this is an aggressive jump from where Anthropic sat months ago, and it needs revenie growth to match that pace.

🚨SHOCKING: All major OpenAI executives QUIT, leaving Sam Altman to steer the company, as revenue tops $40 BILLION.
OpenAI’s Chief Revenue Officer just quit after only 8 months, while its COO also departed yesterday even as revenue surges ahead of a potential IPO.
The company’s head of ethics, head of safety systems, and former head of mission alignment have ALL exited in recent weeks. At this point, there may be no major executive left to quit besides Sam Altman.

claude code: custom slash commands (skills)
typed "review this diff for bugs and check our style guide" into claude code for probably the 40th time this month before i fixed it.
quick fact: custom commands and skills are the same feature now. the old way still works, a file at .claude/commands/review.md, but anthropic's docs call that legacy and recommend .claude/skills/review/SKILL.md instead. both give you /review.
action: create .claude/skills/review/SKILL.md → paste your prompt in as the body → save → type /review next session and it fires instantly
pro: skills also support extra files and let claude invoke them on its own, not just when you type the slash.
con: if you already have old .claude/commands/ files, they're not broken, but new ones should go in the skills format or you're building on the deprecated path.
cut my most repeated prompt to 7 keystrokes. worth the 2 minutes.
