Very happy to share our endeavour into the molecular mechanisms underlying the susceptibility of diabetics to respiratory infection. In a nutshell we identified a critical immune-metabolic checkpoint in lung dendritic cells that is driving susceptibility to infection.
1/3 Proud to share our new @Elinav_Lab @Elinav_DKFZ @Sys_Immunology @WeizmannScience paper just published @Nature. Our highly talented postdocs @NobsSamuel & @OKolodziejczyk and senior scientist @Suhaib_K_Abdeen led a team of researchers and...

Outstanding new study from my old colleagues at the @Elinav_Lab revolutionizing host-microbiome-diet analyses using new proteomic approaches. Congrats Rafa @rvaldesmas , Avner @AvnerLeshem , Danping @DanpingZheng and everyone involved for this groundbreaking advance!
1/14 Excited to share our new @Elinav_Lab @Elinav_DKFZ @WeizmannScience paper @CellCellPress, championed (for 6 years!) by the amazing @rvaldesmas, @AvnerLeshem, @DanpingZheng and twitter-less Alon Savidor. In this work, we’ve adopted into microbiome.. cell.com/cell/fulltext/S0092…
It is a great pleasure to announce today the launch of the @NobsLab! Located at the University of Zurich, we will study microbiome-immune interactions and how they regulate diseases of the lung, in particular infection and chronic inflammation.
I would like to thank my mentors @LabKopf and @Elinav_Lab for their huge support to reach this point. We are looking for new members to join the journey!

Diabetics accounted for 35% of COVID-19-related deaths. @NobsSamuel @OKolodziejczyk @Suhaib_K_Abdeen from @Elinav_lab have found that high blood sugar levels disrupt the immune system’s response to lung infections. These findings mean that it might be possible to block diabetes-induced susceptibility to viral lung infections and their devastating consequences bit.ly/Diabetes-wis
