SEGA removes Amy Rose's romantic feelings for Sonic from her Japanese character profile!
The official Japanese #Sonic Channel has updated Amy Rose's biography, removing all explicit references to her longtime crush on Sonic.
Her previous profile described her as a girl in love with Sonic who constantly chased him and even called herself his girlfriend, a character trait associated with Amy since her debut in 1993.
The new description takes a different approach, presenting her as an energetic, positive and courageous hedgehog who leads her friends and never backs down when they're in danger. It also highlights her Piko Piko Hammer and dedication to self-improvement.
Interestingly, Sonic is no longer mentioned anywhere in her main character description. The change has sparked discussion among fans, especially given how closely Amy's feelings for Sonic have been associated with her character for decades.
SEGA has not provided an official explanation for the rewrite.

Partly related to this, but I always found it kind of annoying that people keep saying that judge Holden is meant to represent death. I mean that could work, but I think it’s glaringly obvious and more fitting that he’s meant to represent American colonialism and manifest destiny
