have you considered, uh.. not doing the measure m freeway projects in the first place?
OCTA continues to show fiscal and #environmental responsibility, growing an endowment to $27.6M for long-term management of 1,300 acres acquired for #preservation of habitat and #wildlife, offsetting environmental impacts of Measure M freeway projects. octa.net/environmental

Housing is an investment. And investment prices must go up. Housing is shelter. When the price of shelter goes up, people experience distress. Housing can’t be both a good investment and broadly affordable—yet we insist on both. This is the housing trap. Escape on 4-23-24.

I am crushed and angry. After an inspiring 2-day huddle on walkability w/ @americawalks, I learned that two pedestrians died on @CityofCostaMesa streets incl. on a @CaltransOC road we know is dangerous & deadly. Pedestrian deaths are preventable, unacceptable, and must be ended. – at Nashville, TN

Concerned Citizens and Transit Advocates need to phone CA State Governor Gavin Newsom's Office and Demand State Emergency Funding to immediately start repairs to get the Amtrak and Metrolink tracks reopened ASAP with the same intensity as the recent downtown LA I-10 shutdown.
Freeway in LA falls apart, Governor @GavinNewsom flies down to SoCal, declares state of emergency, and gets it fast-tracked for repairs in a matter of weeks. Where is that leadership when it comes to the second busiest rail corridor in the country?

It’s unbelievable that something so loved and harmless–the neighborhood cafe–is still illegal in most U.S. cities by default, and that the state needs to step in.

A letter calling for SoCal regional rail governance reform has been written by @RailPAC, @streetsforall and @calelectricrail. It says county agencies do not prioritize regional rail and defer to hyperlocal interests. They call for an independent agency to focus on regional rail.
Paul Dyson (@RailPACPres) of @RailPAC, says he hears of design issues on Link Union Station project. Also talks about cost increases and delays. He is not happy with LA Metro and says next issue will focus on Southern California governance reforms needed. railpac.org/2023/09/26/steel…

Why don’t more people walk in Orange County? Because we prioritize driving and don’t understand the concept of the human scale–at all.
As we move towards total project completion/closeout, crews continue landscaping throughout the corridor. These shots showcase fresh landscaping in the City of Seal Beach. #Landscaping #Construction #OrangeCounty #OC #405Improvement #CaltransOC
