Only one gubernatorial candidate will actually talk to the press...
Thank you @ChristineDrazan for answering my questions during our interview. For the record, @GovTinaKotek has not agreed to be interviewed-despite more than a dozen invitations from @fox12oregon since July. She also declined our debate invitation.youtu.be/XD2ex5Cn7PE?is=bYI1…

You can’t trust a governor whose solution to a $400 million problem was a $15 billion tax on Oregonians. Higher taxes are not the solution. New leadership is.

GEN Z IS VOTING WITH ITS FEET—AND OREGON SHOULD BE TERRIFIED. A poll found 70% of Gen Z respondents considering a move said they’d most likely leave Oregon. Among those considering moving statewide, 53% cited lower taxes as a reason. The message is unmistakable: high taxes, weak job growth, public-safety failures and an unresponsive government are driving people to question their future here. No housing growth without population growth. No population growth without good-paying jobs. No good-paying jobs without business investment. And no business investment without a safe city, competitive taxes and government that actually works. Councilor Mitch Green, County Chair Jessica Vega Pederson and Governor Tina Kotek: Oregon cannot tax, regulate and alienate its way to prosperity. This isn’t left versus right. It’s results versus failure—and the political extremes are making compromise harder while the problems get worse. November is an opportunity to demand change at every level of government. Oregon cannot afford another four years of business as usual. @GovTinaKotek @jvegapederson @mitch4portland @MayorKWilson oregonlive.com/politics/2026…

Local and regional tax burdens in the Portland area have grown over five times faster than the local population, driven by at least 20 major new tax measures and rate hikes enacted by voters and lawmakers since 2009. Key Fiscal Realities in Portland •Surging Tax Burden: Voters and lawmakers have passed at least 20 major tax measures since 2009, pushing Portland to have the second-highest combined top marginal individual income tax rate in the nation (trailing only New York City). •Business Taxes: Local taxes on Portland businesses rose by 82% between 2019 and 2023 alone. •New Local Levies: The area introduced localized income and gross-receipts measures such as the Multnomah County Preschool for All tax (1%), the Metro Supportive Housing Services tax (1%), and various property and utility fee increases. •Population vs. Growth: While Portland and Multnomah County experienced flat or declining population trends during parts of the post-pandemic period (with Multnomah County seeing outward migration to neighboring counties like Clark County, WA or Washington County), local government and special-district tax revenues continued to scale upward to fund housing, preschool, and infrastructure backlogs. By comparison, state-level data in Oregon noted that overall state spending grew over four times faster than state population growth over a similar decade-long window, mirroring the public perception of a steep gap between demographic growth and fiscal expansion. You cannot tax your way out of incompetence. You cannot legislate your way out of disorder. And you certainly cannot punish the employers and investors who still have the option to take their capital, jobs and businesses elsewhere. Keep driving away the people who create, invest and employ, and eventually there will be fewer people left to tax. Portland and Oregon are taxing citizens to death. Our quality of life has deteriorated and the level of government services are among WORST IN NATION despite HIGHEST IN NATION TAX BURDEN. @GovTinaKotek @MayorKWilson

Incredibly alarming that DOJ has declared it will not appeal the ruling that struck down the nearly 100-yr-old requirements for silencers, short-barreled rifles, and “sawed-off” shotguns. These uniquely lethal devices can eviscerate public safety. bit.ly/4xUlxgk

I need my Oregon followers to be on this immediately. Ethics violation. @ORDems @ORHouseDems
‼️Democrat Nominee Tammy Carpenter should withdraw immediately. This is unethical and illegal… It is illegal in Oregon to run a campaign identifying yourself as a "doctor" or "physician" if your medical license has lapsed. Oregon law treats practicing medicine with a lapsed license exactly the same as practicing medicine without a license, which is a Class C felony…

Oregon’s population finally turned positive in 2024—but the income numbers tell a different story. Oregon gained roughly 5,600 residents, yet migration data show a $476 million net loss in adjusted gross income in 2022–23. Households earning $200K+ accounted for $403 million of that loss. Washington captured the most Oregon households and income. So the real question isn’t simply “Are people moving to Oregon?” It’s who is leaving, who is coming, and what income are they bringing with them? The data show Oregon is replacing population—but losing a disproportionate share of its highest-income households. That’s an economic warning sign Portland and Salem shouldn’t dismiss. @GovTinaKotek @MayorKWilson

Give this a read… 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻 (Posted by Nicole Riehl on Facebook). Oregon has a REALLY big employer that I don’t think we talk about enough: Oregon state government. In 2019, Oregon state government employed about 40,900 people. By 2025? 49,300. That’s roughly 8,400 additional state-government jobs — a 20% increase in just six years. And here’s what really caught my attention: while Oregon’s state-government workforce grew substantially over that period, Oregon’s private sector LOST 22,700 jobs in 2025 alone. Why does this matter? Because families and businesses are constantly being told that costs have gone up and government needs more revenue. Well… costs have gone up for ALL of us. When a business can’t afford its expenses, we don’t get to automatically charge our customers more. We cut expenses. We prioritize. We become more efficient. We reconsider hiring. We figure it out. So before Oregon asks its families and businesses for another dollar, I think it’s completely reasonable to ask: Has the state seriously looked at the size, cost and efficiency of its own government first? I’m not talking about eliminating essential services or the people actually doing the work. I’m talking about accountability. Because “we need more money” shouldn’t always be the first answer.

Only in Oregon. Portland paid $650,000 to a contractor that didn’t have the expertise to do the job, delayed the project a full year, then turned around and hired someone else for another $600,000 to finish the same work. No big deal right? Just taxpayer money. General fund. Budget shortfalls. And somehow this is just another Tuesday in Portland. Waste is seemingly the system they rely on. #oregon #portland @alekskarlatos

Portland has officially entered the “we have money for everything except Portland” era. Ten million square feet of vacant office space. Thousands of jobs gone. Companies fleeing for safer, better-run, more affordable and more functional cities. A city government that can’t seem to balance its own books, while taxpayers keep getting asked to pay more for less. So naturally, Mayor Keith Wilson and Councilor Steve Novick have identified the emergency that demands Portland’s attention: Sending $20,000 of Portland taxpayer money to Newport to fight over a federal immigration detention facility. You really can’t parody these people. Immigration is a federal responsibility. Newport is not Portland. And this detention facility isn’t Portland’s problem. Yet somehow, when Portland is struggling to keep its own house standing, Wilson and Novick think the responsible thing to do is reach into Portland taxpayers’ pockets and play benefactor in another city’s legal battle. Why? Because nothing says “fiscal responsibility” like spending someone else’s money on a problem that isn’t yours. And please spare us the ridiculous wildfire analogy. Cities sharing resources during an emergency is one thing. Politicians taking money from Portland’s already-strained budget to fund litigation over a federal policy in another city is something else entirely. This isn’t leadership. It’s virtue signaling with a taxpayer-funded credit card. Novick gets to pose as compassionate and principled while Portland taxpayers pick up the tab. That’s remarkably easy when you aren’t spending your own money. Meanwhile, Portland residents are left wondering when the mayor and City Council will discover that Portland itself is an emergency. District 3 voters: remember this the next time Steve Novick comes looking for your vote. His record increasingly sends a pretty clear message to the law-abiding, taxpaying residents who actually fund this circus: Go Fuck yourselves in the heart. And Mayor Wilson? Calling this leadership would be an insult to actual leaders. Portland doesn’t need another taxpayer-funded morality play. It needs a mayor who understands the difference between governing Portland and playing savior somewhere else. Fix Portland. Spend Portland’s money on Portland. And for the love of God, stop treating Portland taxpayers like an unlimited ATM for political virtue signaling. oregonlive.com/portland/2026… @MayorKWilson @NovickOR @SecMullinDHS @ICEgov @HarmeetKDhillon @GovTinaKotek

Before the pandemic, Portland Public Schools was already losing students. COVID accelerated the trend, but it didn't create it. Families have been leaving for years, squeezed by soaring housing costs, rising taxes, and growing frustration with the city's direction. Now the consequences are impossible to ignore. Schools are slated to close because there simply aren't enough students to keep them full. When families leave, they take their children with them. When taxpayers leave, businesses soon follow. That's the predictable result of making a city increasingly unaffordable and less attractive to the very people who fund it. Here's the question for Portland taxpayers: if schools are closing because enrollment is collapsing, where are the savings? If fewer schools need to be staffed and maintained, why do property tax bills never seem to shrink? Government has discovered a remarkable trick: it can serve fewer people, close schools, and still come back asking for more money. Funny how the one thing that never seems to decline in Portland is the tax bill. @MayorKWilson @PPSConnect @GovTinaKotek wweek.com/news/schools/2026/…

This is a wholly irresponsible post by Tina Kotek. Besides her clearly using her government office resources for campaigning, she is pushing use of simple floating devices now called 'watercraft' to collect splash and float fees and is irresponsibly pushing the use of the Sandy River to do so. The Sandy River is actually a very deceiving and dangerous river with a wicked undertow. If she cared about Oregonians, she wouldn't be using the river to push her personal and political agenda Shame on you, Kotek! REAL Oregonians know about the dangers of the Sandy River, but Kotek is a carpetbagger who has never belonged here. She needs to be sent back home to York, PA before she does more damage to the state and real harm to use true Oregonians. @TinaKotek @GovTinaKotek cc: @ChristineDrazan, @TeamDrazan, @BoshartDavisAg
The Sandy River runs roughly 55 miles from Mount Hood’s Reid Glacier to the Columbia River. With places to paddle, tube, swim, or simply relax along the shore, it’s a favorite Oregon escape on a hot summer day and another reason #WeLoveOregon365.

Deflection post #327 of Tina Kotek She’s hoping you don’t notice the absolute crap job she’s doing as Oregon governor by posting tourist fodder
In Prineville, Oregon’s Cowboy Capital, the Crooked River Roundup horse races are back for their 60th year. The four-night tradition draws some of the largest daily crowds of any track in Oregon. Another reason #WeLoveOregon365.

Oh, Tina Kotek. Well, well, well. Bravo, Governor! Another shining day in the People’s Republic of Oregon, where the only thing getting lavishly funded is your next smug press conference on “equity” and “inclusivity,” while a seven year old girl endures unimaginable trauma because the cops are too bogged down playing social workers and dodging your ridiculous policies to actually respond. SB 48, your absolute masterpiece of catch and release genius. Brilliant. Government’s primary purpose is public safety? How quaint. Clearly, in your world, it’s about turning the state into a taxpayer sponsored revolving door for predators. But hey, why bother protecting innocent kids when there are progressive headlines and donor applause to chase? Priorities, right? You know what this is, Tina? It’s the utterly predictable, flaming wreckage of soft on crime ideology, slathered in a thick coat of performative “compassion” that fools exactly no one anymore. Underfunded police? Check. Officers stretched thinner than your excuses, endlessly recycling the same revolving door thugs? Check. Legislators high fiving each other for making it tougher to hold actual monsters accountable so they can virtue signal about “reform”? Double check, with extra participation trophies all around. And the victims? Oh, they’re just inconvenient collateral damage in your glorious progressive utopia experiment. That little girl’s trauma isn’t some mysterious “complex social issue,” Governor, it’s the direct, foreseeable result of policies that bend over backward for criminals while leaving families exposed. OregonWolf here, sniffing the rot wafting from the Cascades to the coast, and let me tell you it reeks of completely inverted priorities. You defund, demoralize, and hamstring law enforcement at every turn, then act shocked, shocked! when the predators roam free like it’s some big mystery. “Public safety should never be up for debate”? Damn right it shouldn’t. So why, pray tell, did your crew transform it into an activist debate club where the bad guys keep scoring wins? Enough with the theatrical nonsense. Time to repeal the revolving door garbage, actually back the blue like you mean it, and recall that real justice isn’t some optional suggestion when kids are paying the price. The good people of Oregon are done with the endless excuses, Tina. Fix this disaster, or the howls from the rest of us are going to echo a whole lot louder next election cycle. This isn’t compassion, it’s straight up chaos wrapped in a rainbow flag and sprinkled with hypocrisy. America 🇺🇸 🐺

Naked man Daniel C. Vasey tries to snatch a 7-year-old kid right off the Portland waterfront in front of her mom. Bystanders had to mace and physically stop him because no downtown cops could respond in time. The victim and her parents were from out of state, just visiting. Meanwhile Gov. Kotek backed SB 820 and 821 to loosen sex offender registry rules and scrap deadlines for classifying thousands more on the list — while Portland streets stay this chaotic. Priorities are completely backwards. This absolutely is NOT the Oregon we want for our kids. Nor the Oregon that was promised to us by Tina Kotek. Enough! #kotekscorecard #oregon @JustAmyMcC @drazan

Gov. Kotek's ineffectiveness has turned Mahonia Hall into a glass house, one from which she shouldn't throw stones. She and the lazy louts at ODOT allow scenes like this to proliferate and ruin Oregon's beauty. @LarsLarsonShow @PDXReal1 @pdxmoderate @captaincwjensen @ORhunter
President Trump’s so-called “One Big Beautiful Bill” is anything but beautiful. I’m fighting back to protect the services Oregonians count on, lower costs where we can, and make sure our neighbors can keep food on the table and access care when they need it.
