@RuhullahMehdi will resign from the National Conference and his Lok Sabha seat on November 3, 2026.
The crown prince and his cabal treat J&K as an estate passed down through the family. They expect the people to vote, then know their place.
They take us for fools who cannot tell a broken promise from a political necessity. Ask them to honour their own manifesto, and they lecture us on how little we understand realpolitik.
We demanded the restoration of Article 370, the release of prisoners and the protection of our rights. They sought power on those promises, then treated us as fools for expecting them to deliver.
We refuse to lend our name to this humiliation. There is no fixing this rot from within.
The seat was won on a promise to the people.
@RuhullahMehdi will surrender it rather than make himself an accomplice to that promise’s betrayal.
He will address the people on the death anniversary of Martyr Aga Syed Mehdi at Behshit-e-Zehra Park, Budgam, on November 3. We welcome all to join.

VIDEO | National Conference MP from Srinagar Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi (@RuhullahMehdi) has decided to resign from the party as well as Parliament on November 3.
He says, "For the sake of the fight that I took, that I was fighting, it has now become very important for me to be clear and to follow the direction without any confusion. The way the party has behaved in the last two years and the way they try to malign my efforts that I did vis-a-vis my political responsibility, the collective agenda that that we had. I continued with the struggle, I continued with the fight, I believed in the principles of being committed to the people and working on that commitment with conviction. This conviction and this continuity or this consistency was maligned by my own party, casting aspersions to my person, casting aspersions to my struggle, they were heading, they still are heading in the opposite direction to what they committed in the elections. And that again is not helpful. That doesn't bring clarity to the fight..."

JKPSC cannot be left headless while aspirants watch their years of preparation and their last chance at selection slip away.
The government’s inaction is costing young people their future. Appoint a Chairman immediately and grant age relaxation to those losing their opportunity due to this delay. Aspirants must not be punished for the government’s failure.
Jamia Millia Islamia, Day 14.
Students asked for an elected union. They got guards tearing down their tents, disciplinary action, shut gates, and police loudspeakers ordering them off their own campus.
Four are on hunger strike. Students say even food and water are being stopped at the gate, and that force has been used against women protesters.
This is not how a university treats students . It should start listening to students.

We welcome the long-awaited order revising the stipend of MBBS & BDS interns in J&K. Sincere thanks to Hon’ble CM Omar Abdullah (@OmarAbdullah) and Health Minister Sakina Masood Itoo (@sakinaitoo) for taking this step.
Special gratitude to the Office of Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi (@Office_ASRM) for its continued support and solidarity throughout our struggle. This victory belongs to every intern who stood united for justice. ✊
@RuhullahMehdi @TeamASRM @shanwazkhan__ @DrMohammadMomin @Office_ASRM
On reservation, the excuse was Delhi.
On the stipend, there is no Delhi. The file is with this Government's own Finance Department. Its own Health Minister approved it. It came back anyway.
And when our interns went to ask why, they were humiliated. Told their education is a favour. Lectured, instead of answered.
Young doctors who carry our hospitals through the night deserve respect from those who govern, not contempt. Public money is not anyone's charity, and merit is not a favour.
We stood with our students then. We stand with our interns now.
When there is no one left to blame, who is stopping the order?
Today, an intern delegation met the OSD to Health Minister Sakina Masood Itoo and the Director General of Finance over the long-pending stipend hike for MBBS/BDS interns of J&K.
Instead of a concrete resolution, we were met with humiliating remarks. The OSD reportedly told us that the government was doing us a favour by providing free medical education.
Since when has public expenditure become anyone’s personal charity? The money belongs to the taxpayers of J&K, not to ministers or bureaucrats. We earn our degrees through merit, sacrifice and relentless hard work.
Thirty days of written assurance, another week of waiting, repeated meetings—and still no implementation order. When it comes to making commitments, the assurances flow freely; when it comes to delivering, the excuses never end.
Calling doctors beneficiaries of government generosity while dismissing their legitimate concerns is an insult to the entire medical profession. It takes neither courage nor leadership to lecture struggling interns; it takes accountability to honour your word.
The authorities should answer the people instead of humiliating their doctors. If the government cannot fulfil its commitments, it must take responsibility for the consequences of its continued inaction.
We will not trade our dignity for another hollow assurance. No more deadlines. No more empty words. We demand the order and its immediate implementation.
To the OSD: Either you take us for fools, or you seriously underestimate the intelligence of the people you are dealing with. Your conduct today reflected a complete lack of courage and accountability, making you appear more like a puppet of the government than an officer willing to stand by his word. Your actions have severely undermined your credibility and the respect your office is expected to command.

That's how a senior IAS officer in J&K — Administrative Secretary, Labour & Employment — dealt with a woman KAS officer who wouldn't be shouted down in front of a room full of officers.
He raised his voice. She raised her dignity. He reached for the only weapon a bully in office has: her job.
This is a grown man with a Secretary's chair threatening a woman's career because she asked to be allowed to finish a sentence.
She was composed. She was clear. She didn't flinch. That is what dignity and self respect looks like.
He is what a problem looks like.
This is what abrogation of Art 370 has brought upon us. An assault on dignity at every level. Even the officers in administration behave like conquerors.
@OfficeOfLGJandK @DullooAtal — if she is touched for holding her dignity, it will have consequences.
The pulpit looses its essence and institutional value if it surrenders to power. It was never meant to bow down and it never should.
The Waqf Board's plan to dictate Friday sermons is an assault on our faith, dressed up as "coordination." No committee should decide what our Ulema say in the house of Allah.
The pulpits cannot be silenced with a circular. This order should be withdrawn immediately. The Mimber (Pulpit) is not up for negotiation.
The J&K Waqf Board has pushed for uniform Friday sermons at all mosques in the Union Territory (UT) and will become the first region in the country to adopt this mechanism to ensure the topics to be highlighted at religious places are pre-decided and approved by a committee of preachers.

Do spare five minutes and listen to @RuhullahMehdi speaking with @Basantrajsonu at CP today.
Heavy security forces in the heart of India's capital to stop citizens reaching Jantar Mantar. This does not speak well of a democracy.
Being from Kashmir, none of this is strange to me. We don't cherish it. We warn: this is what happens in Kashmir. Don't let it happen to the rest of the country.

Rebel National Conference (NC) Member of Parliament (MP) Aga Syed Ruhullah, who has threatened to leave the party in November this year, on Monday (October 5, 2026) met students at Kashmir University (KU), where the authorities have barred on-campus students’ politics since 2019.

Today, Aga Syed @RuhullahMehdi made an unannounced visit to the Kashmir University campus and spent time with students. There were no formalities, just an open conversation.
The discussion covered the reservation policy, student activism, the role of students in active politics and the current state of education in Jammu & Kashmir.
One concern was raised by almost everyone: students have no representation. Whether it's an academic, hostel or administrative issue, there is no students' union to take it up.
A university without a student voice is incomplete. Students deserve a seat at the table.
"We will talk about Muzaffarabad — but from a position of strength."
Aga Syed @RuhullahMehdi on the reality Kashmiris live with today. He spoke of checkpoints every few kilometres, youth jailed since 2019, and the verification regime that costs people their jobs and passports. Journalists have been booked under UAPA, and people have been made second-class citizens in their own land.
Before 2019, he said, Kashmiris could speak from a place of empowerment. Today we are disempowered, degraded. Our hands are tied and tongues locked.
Dignity first. Then every conversation.

DAY 8: STILL STANDING, STILL FIGHTING.
Eight days of peaceful protest. Eight days of patience, resolve and an unanswered call for justice.
Our demands remain clear. Our resolve remains stronger. We will not step back until our voices are heard.

The CM’s own MLAs now have to fight him to get their party’s election promises into a resolution. That is the measure of the Government’s betrayal.
Articles 370 and 35A were clear enough when the NC wanted votes. Now colleagues asking for their inclusion are accused of falling into a “BJP trap”.
The CM was elected to fight for these rights. Who authorised him to decide which promises his colleagues are allowed to insist on?
They keep invoking the 2000 and 2024 resolutions. The public deserves an account of what followed. What concrete steps were taken? What is the plan beyond mentioning them in another resolution?
Kashmiris do not need a lesson in English to understand the NC’s manifesto. They need an explanation for how far this government has strayed from it.
Their refusal to accept the CM’s excuses is not a failure to understand him.
If the CM will not fight for his promises, he should at least stop fighting the people asking him to keep them.
