AIMSA STRONGLY CONDEMNS ALLEGED ASSAULT ON WOMAN DOCTOR IN KHARAR
The All India Medical Students Association (AIMSA) strongly condemns the disturbing incident in Kharar, where a woman doctor was allegedly pinned to the ground and her clothes torn by a rampaging patient.
Such incidents are an alarming reminder of the vulnerability of healthcare professionals at their workplaces. No doctor should have to fear for their safety while serving patients.
AIMSA demands strict legal action against the accused, a fair investigation, and adequate security for doctors and healthcare staff.
Violence against healthcare professionals is unacceptable
Ensure justice
We demand immediate action

*Telangana FMGs’ 15-Day Protest: No Response, No Appointment, Only Threats*
We, the Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs) of Telangana, have been protesting peacefully for the past 15 days, demanding a fair and just resolution to our genuine concerns. Unfortunately, despite our repeated efforts, not a single official has come forward to address our grievances. We have been seeking an appointment with the Hon’ble Health Minister since the beginning of our protest, but no appointment has been granted so far.
Instead of engaging in constructive dialogue, we are deeply concerned by threats from officials regarding the cancellation of our mandatory internship in government medical colleges. We are also distressed by what we perceive as discriminatory treatment by the Director of Medical Education, despite being residents of Telangana and serving patients alongside Indian Medical Graduates with equal dedication and responsibility.
*FMGs are not outsiders to Telangana’s healthcare system*. We are at the forefront of patient care in several peripheral government medical colleges, contributing significantly to healthcare delivery, particularly where the availability of medical personnel is limited. We work on the ground, serve patients, and fulfil our responsibilities to the best of our abilities.
*We are not demanding any undue favour or special privilege.* We are only seeking fair treatment, equal opportunities, dignity, and a reasonable opportunity to present our grievances before the competent authorities.
Fifteen days of protest without a meaningful response is deeply disappointing. Threats and discrimination cannot replace dialogue and justice.
We sincerely urge the Hon’ble Health Minister and the Telangana government to intervene immediately, hear our grievances, and ensure a fair and transparent resolution.
We are doctors committed to serving the people of Telangana. We deserve to be heard, not threatened; treated equally, not discriminated against.

“We welcome the hike in stipend for MBBS and BDS interns and thank everyone who supported them.
Now, our focus shifts to PG residents. If states like UP and Delhi are paying PG doctors over ₹1lakh, J&K must address this disparity too.
Interns got their due. Now it’s time for PG residents.”l

#Watch | The All India Medical Students’ Association (AIMSA) and MBBS/BDS interns across Jammu and Kashmir have resumed their strike and announced candle marches tonight at all Government Medical Colleges (GMCs) and SKIMS Bemina over the continued delay in implementing the long-pending stipend hike.
The decision follows the alleged failure of the government to honour its written assurance issued on September 8, under which interns were asked to wait for 30 days. On October 12, an AIMSA delegation again met the authorities, when OSD Peerzada Zahoor Ahmad reportedly sought another week to resolve the matter. However, on October 19, a delegation once again visited the Secretariat and met the Director General of Finance, but the issue remained unresolved.
According to Dr Tasaduk, Joint Secretary AIMSA, the delegation was subjected to humiliating remarks during its interaction with the OSD, who reportedly stated that the government was doing interns a favour by providing free medical education. AIMSA strongly objected to the alleged remarks, asserting that public expenditure is funded by taxpayers and that interns’ legitimate demands deserve respectful consideration.
Dr Mohammad Momin Khan, President AIMSA, said, “We respect every officer and every institution, but we will not tolerate rude or humiliating behaviour towards medical interns. A written assurance, 30 days of waiting, another week of patience and repeated meetings have still not resulted in an implementation order. If the file regarding the stipend hike is ready, release the order without further delay. Interns deserve dignity, transparency and justice—not endless assurances.”
AIMSA reiterated that the protest concerns the legitimate demand for a stipend hike for MBBS and BDS interns in Jammu and Kashmir. Candle marches will be held tonight across GMCs and SKIMS Bemina, while the association has called upon the government to honour its written commitment and resolve the issue immediately.

PRESS RELEASE & MEDIA INVITATION
J&K MBBS/BDS Interns’ Stipend Issue: Final Meeting with Government Today
The intern delegation and AIMSA leaders of Jammu & Kashmir will hold a final meeting today with the Hon’ble Health Minister, her OSD, and other concerned authorities at the Civil Secretariat to seek a concrete resolution to the long-pending stipend hike issue.
After repeated assurances and missed deadlines, the interns expect an official order ensuring the stipend hike with immediate implementation. This will be our final meeting with the government. No further negotiations, verbal assurances, or extensions of deadlines will be entertained from our side.
We cordially invite members of the media fraternity to cover this important development. The delegation will address the media outside the Civil Secretariat immediately after the meeting and share its response regarding the outcome.
We hope for the continued support of the media in highlighting the legitimate demands of MBBS/BDS interns across Jammu & Kashmir and holding the concerned authorities accountable.
Enough assurances. It is time for action.

AIMSA STANDS IN SOLIDARITY WITH BONDED MEDICAL OFFICERS IN UTTAR PRADESH!
The All India Medical Students Association (AIMSA) stands firmly with bonded Medical Officers in Uttar Pradesh who are raising their voices for FAIR PAY, EQUAL PAY FOR EQUAL WORK, TIMELY SALARY PAYMENTS, AND DIGNIFIED WORKING CONDITIONS.
It is deeply concerning that doctors who dedicate their lives to serving patients are being forced to protest for fair compensation, professional dignity, and their legitimate rights. Doctors deserve respect, not mistreatment; justice, not neglect.
AIMSA strongly urges the Uttar Pradesh Government to immediately address the genuine grievances of bonded Medical Officers, initiate meaningful dialogue with their representatives, and ensure a time-bound resolution.
The demands for salary parity and fair working conditions must be treated with the seriousness they deserve. Doctors should never have to struggle for their rightful compensation or face intimidation for raising legitimate concerns.
