I woke up paralyzed on February 22, 2022, following my Moderna COVID vaccine.
I applied to Canadaâs Vaccine Injury Support Program in July 2022.
Itâs now October 2026.
Iâm living with quadriplegia. Iâve undergone years of neurological testing, MRIs, spinal taps and hospitalizations.
Despite countless follow ups, my claim STILL hasnât received a medical assessment.
I havenât been approved. I havenât been denied. I havenât even been medically reviewed.
Canada created a program to support people with serious vaccine injuries.
So why am I still waiting more than FOUR YEARS just to have my case examined?
How many more years are people with permanent disabilities supposed to wait?
My name is already on my gravestone. Is that what they are hoping?

So in some cases, doctors will be able to make the decision unilaterally. What do you want to bet that within a few years, we'll find that money and politics have crept into the decision-making, and that you're more likely to be euthanized if:
1. you're retired, and are drawing money from some sort of government-operated pension fund that the government has already spent (like America's Social Security), so the government would be better off if you were dead, or
2. the hospital is making less money off of you than they could with another patient, or
3. the hospital is overcrowded, or
4. you're medical care is getting more expensive than your socialized medicine bureaucracy wants to pay?
Remember that we've already seen that doctors will inject people with ineffective, dangerous stuff, for decades, because they make a lot of money from doing so, or because the government, and the hospital administrations, tell them to. So "doctors wouldn't do that!" isn't a credible response.

When supporters of Alberta independence suggested that First Nations could negotiate a new and better relationship, they were called racists for even raising the possibility.
In a democracy, we should always be able to question existing arrangements and discuss something better. That includes our relationship with First Nations. Challenging the status quo is part of participating in democracy.
So when Wab Kinew calls for fundamental change, I have to ask: why were citizens disparaged, labelled racists and taken to court for trying to open that conversation through a democratic process?
Wab Kinew speaks as both a First Nations person and a political leader. His perspective matters. But that does not erase the hypocrisy in how others were treated.
You do not have to support Alberta independence to recognize the double standard. We should all be able to discuss these issues like adults, without smearing people for challenging the status quo, asking questions or exploring alternatives.
Abolish the Indian Act. We have nothing to lose but our chains.
We will, of course, need new legislation that is an interface between the Federal government and First Nations. And this MUST be created alongside Chiefs and First Nation governments every step of the way. But it is time to move past the era of this outdated, racist, and patriarchal legislation.
I support Prime Minister Carneyâs work to position Canada as a global leader in human rights and democracy. The Indian Act is inconsistent with achieving that vision.
Our laws at home should reflect the values we champion around the world.
Itâs time for a relationship with First Nations people that reflects who we are as Canadians today, recognizes nationhood, and lives up to the true nature of reconciliation.
