BULLSHIT. THIS IS A PAYMENT DISPUTE. Eric Deters, the donor, says the money was for her appearances at his own event, Freedom Fest. He founded it in Kentucky in 2020 as an anti-COVID-mandate gathering. He told the Journal he paid Guilfoyle $300,000 over the following years to speak there, plus $200,000 in speaking fees to Donald Trump Jr. and $100,000 to Eric Trump. He also gave $125,000 to a pro-Trump PAC in 2022. In September 2024, Guilfoyle and Trump Jr. were both scheduled to speak at a Deters event in Kentucky. Deters says he does not owe her anything - she says he does. In a June 2025 memo he sent her, he wrote that he had already paid her $300,000 “over the years” and he said he had “not received one favor.” to claim it was not for anything illegal. One secondary account of the Journal reporting says a letter from his consulting company referenced a $50,000 balance for pre-government services. That figure is not in the main write-ups. So the money issue points at Freedom Fest speaking fees. The two sides disagree on whether any balance was still owed.
