Was it? … Really?
In January 2012, Reuters reported that analysis of PIP implants had identified materials associated with the oil and rubber industries, including Baysilone, alongside other industrial silicones.
The image above is not a reconstruction. It is a genuine ruptured PIP implant.
The table beside it records different formulations of filler gel used in PIP implants.
And yet, fourteen years later, the Department of Health and Social Care tells PIP Action Campaign:
“The MHRA worked with the NHS and other health partners to ensure the issue was properly investigated.”
That is precisely what we are challenging.
Because “properly investigated” must mean more than issuing reassurance, relying on limited toxicology, and repeating conclusions first established in 2012.
It must mean asking what women were actually implanted with.
What they were exposed to.
What happened when implants leaked, ruptured, bled and degraded.
What entered capsules and lymph nodes.
What was known, when it was known, and what was not investigated.
🔻 The evidence shows: the UK has built a false safety narrative around PIP, which is why PIP Action Campaign is calling on the Prime Minister for an independent UK-wide statutory Public Inquiry and an Urgent PIP Clinical Reset.
