Team @PPA_India & @Mithibaikshitij Mithibai College collaborated to put reflective collors on stray dogs across Mumbai City. We aim to put 2000 collors on strays over next 6 weeks & then spread campaign to pan India to protect strays from road accidents. #KshitijxPPAforStrays

Is the Bandra Police Station above the law of the land ? - Is PSI Bhagwan Potfode of @BandraPS a God to decide the intention of an accused who has MURDERED & RUN OVER a Cat ? That is for court to decide. Do we have to teach law to the officers ? - Had the Bandra Police colluded with the Accused ? - Why no FIR u/s 325 of BNS in Cognizable offence ?

Shameful, that society has still not learned to co-exist. All thanks to the mindset of the Supreme Court judges who laid down their regressive mindset in judicial orders which has led to such atrocities on voiceless dogs.
Mr. Manish Arora, society secretary or society scoundrel or that one nincompoop in every hsg society ? This society Lodha Fiorenza CHS in Goregaon better follow the rule of law or we ensure their managing committee faces criminal prosecution too. Also the likes of Manish Arora deserve to face public criticism & more, so they understand what it feels like to take law into their hands merely to assert authority by harassing poor pet owners & thereafter seeking shelter of matter being sub judice.

I share and explain the legal provisions under which relocation of community dogs/cats from housing societies constitutes cognizable criminal offenses in the article below authored by @ranjeetnature . Resident Welfare Associations are legally obligated to protect these animals. Violators can face punishment of upto 5years in jail. mid-day.com/amp/mumbai/mumba…

Replying to @PPA_India
🚨 The news clip highlights shocking cruelty leading to the death of a community dog. No action has been taken to investigate or punish the guilty under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1960. Who is responsible for safeguarding this Act? #JusticeForAnimals #AnimalRights #PCAA1960 🐾@bngdistpol @avalahallips @Manekagandhibjp @alokkumar6994 @CPBlr

How can we help change the failure of BNS to penalise sexual abuse of animals? ⬇️ Please sign the petition - petaindia.com/blog/peta-indi… The petition urges HM Amit Shah ji to bring an amendment in the BNS to penalise sexual abuse of animals.
A THREAD - Important changes in the law governing protection of animals and community animal caregivers which have come into effect from 01 July 2024. A must know for all activists, rescuers, community animal caregivers and public at large. Since the Indian Penal Code (IPC), 1860 stands repealed and is replaced by Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita(BNS), 2023, it is pertinent we know of the changes that impact us and the work we do. I have made this compilation of the most commonly used sections for easy reference of all concerned. Please take the time to read through these 10 images/slides which will help empower you to fight for animals effectively and efficiently. Do share it with others and feel free to copy and paste/screenshot/repost, the goal is to spread awareness, educate and empower people. Synopsis - • Killing or maiming an animal is now punishable under Section 325 of the BNS. • Attempt to kill or maim an animal is punishable under Section 62 read with 325 of the BNS. • Sexual abuse of animals is not punishable under BNS as there is no section for the same. BNS has failed to criminalise sexual abuse of animals. It was an offence under Section 377 which provided for a jail term of up to 10 years, or which may extend to life imprisonment, along with fine. • Criminal intimidation/threat/harassment of feeders is now punishable under Section 351 of the BNS. If you’re concerned about the failure of BNS to criminalise sexual abuse of animals, please sign PETA India’s petition - petaindia.com/blog/peta-indi… The petition urges HM Amit Shah ji to bring an amendment in the BNS to penalise sexual abuse of animals. Write to the PM, Home Minister formally and on social media as well. A study published in Forensic Research and Criminology International Journal warns, “Those who engage in animal cruelty were 3 times more likely to commit other crimes, including murder, rape, robbery, assault, harassment, threats, and drug/substance abuse.“ Ameerul Islam, who was convicted of raping and murdering Kerala law student Jisha had a history of raping and killing dogs and goats.
