You can become disabled or homeless in an instant.
Even if you’re young and healthy.
Even if you have a “good job” and a back up plan.
Even if you think you’re doing everything right.
Disability and poverty are not moral failings.
They can happen to anyone.

You made your whole personality about being chronically ill. You will never get better because it would destroy your sense of self.

I’m not “lazy”. I’m a motivated person trapped in a sick body.

When many people state that the lockdowns caused the deepest depression they’ve ever experienced, just a reminder that many disabled people are in lockdown, five years later. Isolation is a form of torture. I want to live in a world where disabled people are wanted in society.

For all the binary thinkers: ALL illness has mental/emo/physical aspects bc the body is ONE system.
That means neuroscience is useful to healing. AND physiological support is useful to healing.
Recognizing how & WHEN to leverage each is the difference maker. These are skills.

You never know what someone is going through just by looking at them.

The high court in London has this week heard a legal challenge that aims to expose how the last Conservative government used a “sham consultation” to try to push through “cataclysmic” cuts to disability benefits of nearly £3 billion over four years.

Chronically ill and disabled people are not abandoning you by being sick. But you are abandoning them when you refuse to meet them where they’re at.

Anaphylaxis needs to be taken more seriously than it is.
Epi is great - but it’s only buying you time. Biphasic reactions can be lethal.
Also - especially if you have MCAS - make sure to learn the various ways anaphylaxis can present.
It doesn’t always involve the airway.
