Rare accountability journalism press sighting on Parliament Hill!
The Auditor General found Environment Canada quietly stopped work on the 2021 promise to ban thermal coal exports by 2030. In November 2024 the department halted the file with no recorded direction from the minister or deputy minister and no public notice. Exports are higher now than when the promise was made
When ministers blamed “the previous government,” reporters noted the obvious: many of them were that government. Are decisions made before the leadership change no longer theirs? That is the kind of pressure the gallery has long applied to Pierre Poilievre.
Accountability is not an opposition-only standard. For a brief moment today it was applied to the people who actually control the government. Whether it lasts past this scrum is the real test...

ANOTHER LIBERAL LIE?
Over 130 days ago, the Liberals announced an audit into Canada Health Infoway after Conservatives exposed the $300 MILLION PrescribeIT scandal.
Yet now, they REFUSE to tell Parliament whether they even hired an auditor, let alone who.
WHERE IS THE AUDIT?

The federal Auditor General has released 6 reports today. And they all kick the Liberal in the nuts.
Just one example:
The Liberal National Dental Care plan.
$1.1 BILLION over budget in first 2 yrs, and no tracking is being done to see if it is actually improving dental health.

Every dollar the Liberals borrow comes due at your kitchen table.
Families already owe $1.80 for every $1 of income, the highest in the G7.
By 2030, interest will eat 13.6¢ of every federal dollar, nearly $8,000 per family of four.
Cut spending. Unleash growth.
Let Canadian families breathe.

Ironic considering saving our sovereignty & independence were 2 of the key reasons why Carney said he walked away from negotiations with the US.
So are we now to believe that we should abandon our sovereignty & independence, to in some now unclear way, join the EU?

Ursula von der Leyen leads the EU bureaucracy. They killed venture tech across Europe with red tape.
Now she’s announcing Canada can access 12 EU supercomputers.
That’s fine - but Canada does more trade with with a single US state - Texas - than all 26 EU nations combined - with more tech assets than all of Europe.
The EU visit is nice. But they’re an economic basket case.
It’s time to get a deal done with the USA.

Mark Carney promised to make Canada an energy superpower. Today, his Liberals voted against Conservative Bill C-264 to repeal their shipping ban.
Strathcona Resources has proposed exporting up to 250,000 barrels of Canadian oil a day through Prince Rupert, but the ban stands in the way. Repealing it would open the door to proposals like this, creating opportunities for Canadian jobs, private investment, and new export markets beyond the U.S.
The Liberals had a chance to work with Conservatives to open new markets for Canadian oil and reduce our dependence on the U.S. Instead, they voted against Bill C-264. Energy superpower promises, same old Liberal roadblocks.

CTV is doing the exact same thing
In their recent interview, Frank McKenna is introduced only as “Former Canadian ambassador to the United States.”
No mention that he has been Chair of Brookfield Corporation since 2010 — the same firm where Mark Carney was Chair of Brookfield Asset Management until he ran for Liberal leader
No mention of his long-standing ties to Carney, or that he has repeatedly praised the Prime Minister’s direction
Viewers are left with the impression they’re hearing from a neutral former diplomat, not the current chairman of one of the world’s largest asset managers with deep connections to the PM. No mention that Carney still stands to gain advantageously from two specific Brookfield funds
Selective disclosure isn’t just a CBC problem @omarsachedina
Frank McKenna has been a director of Brookfield since 2006 and has been the Chair of the Board of Directors for Brookfield Corporation (formerly Brookfield Asset Management) since August 2010. He endorsed Carney for Prime Minister, and he might have been instrumental in his interest to run as far back as 2012... but CBC only calls him "former Canadian ambassador to the United States"

Canadian industries face a massive EU CARBON TAX while Mark Carney secretly negotiates to make Canada a member of the European Union.
And let’s not forget, the European Union already imposes massive carbon taxes on its members.
