"Virtually all peptides are illegal"
He says Americans still buy $1.5B-$3B a year, mainly from Chinese firms, with no FDA inspection.
His stated goal: a regulated market.
FDA's interim peptide policy is still under White House review 👀
89 shipments. $280K+.
That's unapproved GLP-1 and peptide product CBP officers in Cincinnati say they recently intercepted (per CBP Chicago).
It comes as FDA's interim peptide compounding access policy awaits White House review.
Crackdown and access push at once?
Protecting public health and safety at the border! 🛑📦
Across 89 separate shipments, CBP officers in Cincinnati recently intercepted a massive wave of smuggled, unapproved GLP-1 and peptide products, totaling $280,106.20 in illicit pharmaceuticals.
Why do we stop this? Unregulated, unverified peptides and weight-loss drugs entering the country bypass critical FDA oversight, sterility checks, and quality controls. Buyers have zero guarantee of what is actually inside these unapproved vials—risking contamination, incorrect dosages, severe side effects, and dangerous health consequences.
Keeping unapproved, potentially toxic drugs out of our communities is a vital part of our mission to safeguard American consumers. 💪🔒

🚨 New BPC-157 trial just registered
University of Arkansas is running a Phase 1 pilot after rotator cuff repair.
Patients get daily subcutaneous injections (BPC-157 or saline) for 90 days, with MRI checks and strength testing.
Randomized, placebo-controlled, ~30 people. Starts early 2027.
Not the first human study overall (a larger hamstring trial is already recruiting), but the first proper controlled US trial focused on post-surgical tendon healing.
After years of mostly rat data, this should give the first real signals on whether it helps recovery in people.
Still a small pilot, useful for safety and early data, not final proof.
BPC-157 is FINALLY getting a real human trial.
A U.S. medical school is preparing to test it on patients recovering from shoulder tendon surgery.
90 days of daily injections. Placebo-controlled. MRI scans. Actual strength measurements.
But there's a catch: the trial is too small to prove whether BPC-157 actually works.
After decades of hype, we're finally getting somewhere. Here's what you need to know. 👇

🚨 FDA insiders are pushing back.
Pink Sheet reports career FDA staff raised concerns about HHS's peptide "interim access" plan, but it's moving through White House review anyway.
AP sources say BPC-157 could be included.

Both are now on FDA import alert.

Context on FDA's peptide plan:
FDA says BPC-157, TB-500, MOTs-C and CJC-1295 were previously in Category 2, its list of compounding ingredients that "may present significant safety risks."
Their nominations were withdrawn.
Which peptides the new plan covers is not public.
How long could White House review take?
FDA's peptide plan reached OIRA Oct 14.
Executive orders envision 90 days.
1994–2011 average across agencies: 51 days.
Since 2012, reviews have run longer.

Oasis rankings. Same model that got them sued by LMNT.
Opaque methods. Scores in the app. Corrections after the fact.
LMNT is suing Oasis for defamation. Oasis said LMNT had 7x the legal limit of lead, it was a unit conversion mistake off by 300x, they admitted it and still left the 3/100 score up.
The complaint says it stayed up because it was driving downloads.
Why I’m posting this: Oasis is doing the exact same thing with peptides. “Worst rated” lists, no methodology, no lab named, no idea how the vials were sourced. People asked in the replies and got nothing. And the paid certification program sits right next to the scores.

FDA inspectors found black mold and bugs at a Chinese plant making GLP-1 ingredients for compounding. Worse, another plant was stamping its own name on ingredients made somewhere else.
That's the problem in one story: the pharmacy's paperwork can point to the wrong factory. A COA from the seller isn't proof of where the API came from.
If you're on a compounded GLP-1 or peptide, ask who actually manufactured the API and whether the finished vial was tested.

PeptideBase is fully free. We don't charge vendors, we don't take affiliate commissions, and I've never made a dollar from it. That should change soon.
Been busy navigating life, several projects, IRL commitments etc.. With the White House push for peptides to be compounded, I think that's my sign to get back to it.
So far everything built at PeptideBase has been a proof of concept. Ready to take it to the next step.
