Man builds Flock-like license plate readers to only track police cars. Cops show up to his door to interrogate him due to "privacy violations." They seem to forget they are *public* servants. They don’t have a right to privacy. Every single thing they do while on the clock the public has a right to know about.

Flock deployed 120,000 surveillance cameras, then trimmed data retention to seven days to appease Congress. The panopticon is already permanent; the hearing is just routine administrative theater. legis1.com/news/flock-survei…

No cameras. No sensors. Just Wi-Fi reading human movement. Researchers at Carnegie Mellon University have developed a system that uses standard WiFi routers to detect human movement through walls—without any cameras. By applying AI and DensePose model, the system turns WiFi signals into detailed maps of body posture in real time.

Recommend uninstalling #Mozilla #Firefox #browser immediately and switching to a more #privacy friendly alternative. Not only do Mozilla now claim a license to your data, they removed the assurance that they do not sell it. #infosec #dfir #security
Use Firefox? Mozilla Says it Can Use Your Data However it Wants. "When you upload or input information through Firefox, you hereby grant us a nonexclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use that information," says Mozilla.

It's disappointing to see Firefox seemingly backtrack on its privacy promises. Perhaps this is a good time to explore alternative browsers that prioritize user privacy. Options like Brave or even ungoogled-chromium might be worth considering.

Mozilla just changed the Firefox TOS. If you're a privacy person, might be time to move off.

This is now outdated. Mozilla updated the Terms of Use to be more clear: It also includes a nonexclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license for the purpose of doing as you request with the content you input in Firefox. This does not give Mozilla any ownership in that content. blog.mozilla.org/en/products/fi…
