I am pleased to announce that the BMJ has published my Rapid Response letter. This is a sign that academic publishers are beginning to listen to critiques related to racism and discrimination.

Roger @rogerkline you are so correct. The Met since Lawrence, it has been many first step in the right direction. But it is one step forward two steps back. Why ? Who is at the table of decision making ? Is there any true diversity With enabling policies ? We shall see indeed😩
I’m a #HumanistBecause defending our human rights has never been more important, and I support an inclusive and secular society that does not give privilege to one belief group over another.

In the light of recent carnage, you may be tempted to utter the time-honoured phrase:
“This is not who we are!”
I encourage you not to indulge this delusion.
I welcome those counter-protesting and those doing clean up.
But many of us have known for years that this IS who we are.

As a nurse I’m heartbroken to hear our brilliant internationally educated nursing colleagues are leaving here. Every nurse delivers unconditional safety critical care and health and care services will collapse without our international nursing and healthcare staff. These criminal violent and racist attacks on all minority communities must stop.

Thanks for speaking out Frank! This does the world of good to the one in three of us who experience mental distress. You are amazing and talented!
Morning 20 years ago today I was sectioned for the 1st time it was a horrible experience too detailed to put on a social media post. The publicity it received went Worldwide I was front page news for the wrong reason TV crews at my door, helicopter overhead. I'm told that from that day Mental health issues suddenly were not swept under the carpet, & hushed up. The only positive from that day for me is the awareness of Mental Health all over the UK. My main problem there is still lots of talk but far more actions need to be taken & our Government need to put their hand in their pockets & actually address Mental Health issues properly not just talk about it.
