Current mindset: fade this bounce
As hinted an hour ago, I am no longer interested in longing, as it has been invalidated.
As part of its invalidation, it's structural low is weak and is expected to be taken out.
Hence I expect new lows next.
Simply due to the structural weakness exposed at 80.5k level, $eth mmd not holding, 75k overall magnet expectations, and continued momentum during the weekend.
So as a natural result of the long plan invalidation, it's logical to expect new lows instead and consider this as just a bounce.
Hence the mindset: short on the bounce.
No fresh short positions for me yet btw aside from the large exposure I shared last month at 86k, I'll share plan of execution on that in the coming trading sessions.
But I'm just hinting to new lows first imo as part of my plan and I wanted to share my mindset of what I think of this bounce first.

Bitcoin dominance is at a decision point.
Break above 61.5% and Bitcoin keeps leading. Alts stay weak.
Break below 58% and money starts rotating into ETH and alts.
ETH has done well these last 4 months, but that only continues if dominance starts falling from 61%.

$BTC is exactly mimicking the fractal from the November 2022 bottom.
The consolidation, pump, and even correction are happening the exact way.
And here's what's interesting.
In the 16th week after 2022 bottom, BTC had a flash crash because of the US banking crisis.
We are approaching the same week again now, and if this repeats, Bitcoin will bottom around $74K-$75K (in the worst-case scenario).
After that, a reversal and pump to $90,000 will happen.

- Broke out of a nearly 5-year downtrend

$BTC If this deviates below $83K I am going more defensive mode until the Fed/Treasury steps in and defends the long end yields in some shape or form like Bessent tried doing a month ago.
That didn't have any effect in the end for the yields but did spark the BTC & Crypto rally halfway through August.
Alternative could be Trump taco'ing on the war which should ease inflation expectations, bring oil down and also gets yields lower.
Midterms next month so maybe he'll time it right before so the "win", which he would label it as, is fresh in everyone's minds.
I think that if the chart confirms a breakdown after sweeping the may highs at $83K, with these things at play, it doesn't hurt just taking it chill until something changes
It has been an amazing few months for gains so rather defend that capital while it is still at its highs.
For now let's see if $83K holds or if the bulls can retake $85K. We've just been ranging here for the past week in the end.
But below $83K this will be my train of thought. I also think that would signal a more risk off environment for alts if it happens.
High timeframe market structure flips are great, but you do need to see follow through. A rejection below your breakout level as sentiment flips bullish and lots of ETF flows come in above, is not the recipe for the continuation of a bullish environment you want to see.
