Client: "Our cast iron wood stoves are worth gold to me. We need to rank #1 for that keyword."
Me: "Give me a few months."
3 months later...
They're ranking #1 for "cast iron wood stove."
It took almost no effort.
All I did was build a product category page optimized for the keyword.
Add a few hundred words of content below the list of products.
And build a single backlink to the page.
A month and a half later, the page was indexed in Google started ranking on the 2nd page.
A month and a half after that, it hit the #1 spot.
The keyword gets 6,600 searches a month.
The AOV for this product is $2,000-3,000.
To say this keyword ranking is going to print money for this brand is an understatement.

Totally agree
CBO isn’t the enemy, it’s just misunderstood.
At high spend, you lose testing control.
But at low budgets, CBO doesn’t even function properly
it starves half the ad sets.
It’s all about when and how you use it.

Ads aren't supposed to work
In the first 2 days.
So don't panic when lose some money.
I lost $12 last week.
Same ad did $56K yesterday.
Be patient.

Call me a lost cause...
But the difference b/w a $10k and $100k brand is the community behind them
$10k brands battle to build list and churn through them
$100k brands speak exclusively with loyalists who listen to them
Be more like $100k brands
Speak to those who'll listen

Ad account mistakes to avoid:
- cluttered campaign structure
- not segmenting targeting
- not taking funnels seriously
- not testing raw-UGC-natural creatives
- using polished 'branded' creatives
- not testing 3/5 hooks to find a winner
If you're making these mistakes in a $20K+/spend account, let's design an improvement roadmap to scale your DTC/e-Com brand. DM for a FREE ad account audit.

How to stop overcomplicating ad accounts and simply scale?
Consolidate.
Scale with only 4 campaigns:
> testing campaign
> advantage+ campaigns
> scaling campaign
> retargeting/catalogue sales campaign
This leaves you time for:
< high-quality content creation
< Ad-landing page congruency
< winning & high-level strategy re-evaluation
< better customer experience mapping
< purchase rate improvement
Give yourself more time to deep dive into the high-impact areas. What is one thing you do to simplify your media planning approach?

People ask me what do I exactly review when I make audits.
How can I see the exact leaks and how can I make an on spot improvement roadmap.
Its simple.
It is the right discovery of all the core components.
My process is easy, and if you're a DTC / ecom owner you must ask yourself the same questions:
1. What is your hero product?
2. What is the average order value?
3. What is your target cost per acquisition? And your current cost per acquisition?
5. What revenue target are you aiming in the next 6/12 months?
6. What is your access to capital?
At its core this is about a directional journey towards the 'leaks' in your system.
I then thoroughly assess these main touch points:
> Landing pages
> Content (tone/messaging/association/visual)
> Ad account
I look for on-platform and off-platform problems for these indicators:
> CPC
> Conversion rate
> Bounce rate
> Hook ratio
> Video completion rate
> CPA
> MERs
This helps me map out the brands journey and understand focus areas for improvement.
Asking the first few questions is the most important step.
I always tell DTC owners to be strategic with their product offering and be open to change as and when needed.
Marketing is an avenue you explore second.

What is really painful about having limited number of ad creatives is that you burn $$ on ad fatigue instead of conversions.
Once you truly realize the importance of creative variations for different audience segments you will soon see how easy it is to get rid of ad fatigue.

A month ago this brand was struggling with lower ad reach and ad burnout.
We just hit: - an increase in reach by 56.09% compared to June with a turn down in ad frequency by 34.62%
I'm sharing 2 key takeaways from how we did it.

You need these two Prospecting Campaigns If you want to expand your target audience:
1. One campaign with a broad approach, targeting a wide audience with a minimum of 5 different ad sets. ( Audience focused)
2. The other campaign with dynamic catalog ads to present products more dynamically ( Creative focused)

How to create ads that boost revenue by 6 digits in just 120 days > my tested research plan.
There's tons of information available, and many people fail to decode the right mix of research.
Research for ads doesn't start at the Ad library and ends there. It is psychology that you have to tap into.
For me, this is the 3-step roadmap:
It helps me create ads focused on real conversations from real customers.
1. Social eyes.
I open up the top 3 social media platforms (FB IG TikTok) and find at least 3-5 video formats and 5-6 images.
I then scan the comments for every benefit and every objection social media users have. Check for objections in bad reviews, and benefits in 5-star reviews.
I jot down 8-10 keywords and take out hook lines that creators and users use to set out problems.
> Just see and listen.
Your goal is to only observe.
The gold is already there for you to dig.
2. Competition scan.
For me, the competition has already done the work and I just need to find value + gaps in their game.
I do this by taking out the most effective copy pieces.
I scan their products for each USP.
I then jump onto their ads to review their customer journey.
You only need 3-4 competitors to do this.
3. Forum conversations.
Find your most relevant communities on Reddit. And then track the popular conversations.
Focus on how they're using the products to fit their lifestyles. Then build on their desired lifestyles with your product.
Remember that the more you dig into the gold that is there, the stronger the foundation of your journey.
Just like when building a career, if you skip the right path, it goes down. So get up for clarity and do it right the first time.
It is an easy roadmap, and I would love to know how my fellow marketers decode this stage. Lets discuss!
