I released this magnificent White Tailed Sea Eagle in Killarney back in 2021, as part of a reintroduction programme. Today, this photo was taken of it out in the wild, many miles away in another province.

#KitePic Blue White T collected in Wales & released in Wicklow in 2011. She produced many young in recent years nesting right in the middle of a rookery each year. Found dead in 2020 on the motorway probably a collision victim #scavenging on carrion #DriveSlow @eagle_trust

Forestry plantations like this on deep peat need to be consigned to the past. They do not produce good timber, are a disaster for biodiversity, risk bog slides and river pollution, bring predator species close to breeding waders and a huge source of carbon emissions.
#KitePic Blue Red 7P - wing tags provide valuable information about movements, survival age and help identify individual birds. Important part of monitoring the kites and carried out under special licensing and trained team #blueskies @eagle_trust @npwsBioData

Among the best things we can do for climate, biodiversity and water quality would be the restoration of our native forest.
Large, connected, beautiful woodlands that are never chopped down but allowed to evolve indefinitely.
