Private equity is a remarkable innovation. You buy a functioning company, load it with debt, sell its assets, fire half the staff, collect millions in fees, and when it collapses, explain how creative destruction makes capitalism so fucking efficient.

Libertarians believe monopolies cannot survive in a free market, provided you ignore predatory pricing, exclusive contracts, control of distribution, massive capital requirements, buying out competitors, and every other economic reality that ruins their stupid fucking fairy tale.

TARGET2 balances are NOT German loans. Even Germany's public bank KfW explicitly says so.
They reflect payments already settled, capital flows and ECB monetary policy. They even include payments for German cars bought by Italians — cars that have already been paid for.
They are intra-Eurosystem claims and liabilities, eliminated in the Eurosystem's consolidated balance sheet.
You're confusing accounting with economics. And propaganda with analysis. As usual.
There's a fantasy in Italy and Spain that Germany's TARGET2 claims aren't real. They're very real. They're subsidized loans from Germany that finance a standard of living in Italy and Spain that's artificially and unsustainably high. The AfD will end this.

If only fish and sharks could intertemporally optimize their populations under rational expectations, we wouldn't need ecologists and their silly dynamic models.
Unfortunately, neither species has figured out how to maximize discounted lifetime utility.

1/25 🎬🍿 COMING SOON: NEOCLASSICAL CINEMA. No involuntary unemployment, no radical uncertainty, and every ending in equilibrium. Critics call it fiction. Economists call it a documentary. Can you guess them? 🧵

The answer is the currency itself is a public monopolist and unemployment evidences the monopolist restricting supply (of net financial assets).
Aka, Keynes' lack of effective demand story.
And to the classics point that ex monopoly there's no unemployment.

The libertarian solution to child labour is to explain that children wouldn't be working in factories unless the market had determined it was their most productive use.

España gasta bastante menos en pensiones públicas que muchos países de su entorno. Tenemos margen para recuperar la edad de jubilación de los 65 años y subir las pensiones más bajas.
23% of GDP in #OECD and EU countries is spent on social protection, and the bill is set to rise.

Los bancos llevan metiéndonos miedo con las pensiones públicas desde hace décadas, sólo para que las privaticen o para que corramos a contratarles a ellos pensiones privadas. Pero las únicas pensiones que quiebran son las privadas, no las públicas!
