This would have been laughable back when only 10% of young people went to university, but it's an especially ridiculous thing to say now that 50+% go and"being a student" means almost nothing.
All young people are naïve, arrogant, inexperienced and ignorant, but at least in 1968 you could assume that if they managed to get into university then at least they're probably weren't a _complete_ moron. Not anymore.
A good rule of history: if you find yourself opposing a student movement while siding with the ruling class, you're wrong. Every time, in every era, whatever the issue.

Leftists surrendering to the “it takes a village to raise a child” brainrot, which was promoted simply to make black women living off the state and charity sector in the USA seem more palatable. As the father of their children would be absent, the taxpayer had to step-up. This slogan was used to mask the phenomenon and make welfare dependency seem co-operative and cozy instead.
Unchecked the state naturally expands, so once on this path seeks to maximise dysfunction in order to find purpose in providing for it.

You can cancel an election and ban the winner from running (Romania), you can ban your opponents from ever running again (Hungary), you can threaten to ban the main opposition party and subject it to relentless investigations by the secret police (Germany), you can threaten a ban on the leading presidential candidate and make them wear an ankle monitor (France), every member of your circle can be investigated for corruption (Spain), you can try and cancel local elections because you will lose them (Britain), and you can storm the constitutional court with riot police because you want to control it (Poland).
You can just do all these things. The secret is you just have to be on the right side of the European Commission.
