Want to design your own humanoid? Point your agent at github.com/meetsitaram/echo, give it Fusion MCP, and let it cook. 🤖
We’re thrilled to see the Echo project adopt 29 off-the-shelf RobStride actuators for this AI-coding-agent humanoid design.
This workflow auto-generates CAD, runs static mechanical checks, and exports MuJoCo / URDF from a single Python spec.
While this is still simulation-only, it’s great validation for our actuators within the open-source humanoid community. @_bbelousov @meetsitaram

echo is a recipe for letting a coding agent design a humanoid robot, CAD included. The example robot copies Figure 03's published specs and look, from parts on sale today.
How it works
• One Python spec is the single source of truth. Every part is placed relative to a few anchor heights (hip, knee, ankle, shoulder…), so changing a proportion is one edit and everything is regenerated.
• Checks run before any CAD: masses from materials, clearances with every joint swept through its range, static torque and centre of mass in 10 task poses. Each check was first shown to catch a deliberately broken design.
• To match the look, the agent renders the robot next to frames of Figure's reveal video at the same scale and refines it section by section.
• The CAD is built by script: the agent drives Fusion 360 through MCP. URDF and MuJoCo models come from the same spec.
• The method ships as a Claude Code skill plus a file of lessons learned. A human reviews before/after renders each round.
Result: 1.73 m, 57 kg, 29 joints, 29 off-the-shelf RobStride actuators.
What it doesn't show yet
• The walk in the video is retargeted motion capture, played back without physics. In MuJoCo the robot only stands and squats.
• The structural checks are static only, and the actuator numbers come from retailer listings.
• Nothing has been built.
The method is the interesting part. The robot is a Figure 03 look-alike that is plausible on paper.

We’re excited to see RobStride actuators selected for Hugging Face LeRobot’s open-source bipedal robot project.
Simulate in MuJoCo first, then deploy on real hardware with CAN FD.
Open locomotion research for everyone!

Guess how much it costs to build your own bipedal robot.
Hugging Face's LeRobot team has open sourced a two legged robot designed for locomotion research.
Here's what you get:
• 12 degrees of freedom, 6 per leg
• 75 3D-printed PLA+ parts
• Around 3.5 kg of filament
• Raspberry Pi 5 and an onboard IMU
• 12 RobStride actuators communicating over CAN FD
• Public CAD files, assembly guide and MuJoCo simulation tools
Estimated hardware cost: $2,600, excluding shipping, taxes and import duties. The actuators alone cost around $1,900.
I like that you can test walking policies in MuJoCo before printing and assembling the robot. That gives researchers a way to work on locomotion in simulation before moving to physical hardware.
It's a biped designed for locomotion research, not a complete humanoid with arms and a torso.
Would you build one for $2,600 or start by testing walking policies in simulation?
Huge shoutout to @Ryan_Resolution and the MakerMods team for launching Maker Arm — the accessible open-source 6DoF robot arm powered by RobStride QDD actuators, now running Dream-1 from Dream Labs.
This project solves a key pain point in embodied AI: expensive, hard-to-source robot hardware. We were glad to support the team to deliver reliable QDD actuators for this launch. Open, affordable hardware is how we bring zero-shot physical AI to more builders and researchers.

Using CadQuery(Python) to parametrically define 83 parts for SO-101, Open Duck Mini v2 and LeRobot humanoid.
Parametric design makes dimension tuning for simulation & 3D printing so much easier.
#RobStride #OpenSourceRobot #CadQuery #ParametricCAD
We rewrote the 3D-printed parts of three open-source robots as CadQuery (Python) programs: SO-101, Open Duck Mini v2 and the LeRobot humanoid. 83 parts.
Change a shared dimension once, and every part that uses it follows, for printing and for simulation.
git clone github.com/yotown/gym && cd gym
pip install -e .
gym check so101
gym build so101 --step --stl
Edit the horn screw size in robots/so101/shared.py, then run gym diff so101 to see which parts changed.
Bought parts are code too: Feetech and DYNAMIXEL servos, RobStride actuators, bearings, Raspberry Pi and IMU boards. Printed parts take their holes from these, so a plate always fits its board.
Next: training tasks, so a robot's body and its controller can be designed together.
These are first versions. Issues and PRs welcome. Thanks @therobotstudio , @antoinepirrone, @LeRobotHF for the original designs.

Today we’re introducing CyberFusion 🚀
CyberFusion is a vertically integrated full-stack robotics company building robotic platforms from the ground up.
We design the major systems in-house: mechanics, power, electronics, embedded systems, control, perception, autonomy and AI.
Our first platform is Ayg, a quadruped built for developers, researchers, universities and labs. It’s designed to be programmable, inspectable and extensible across the stack. We’re building it developer-first and agent-first, so both people and AI systems can understand, operate and extend it.
Rovers and humanoids are also on our roadmap.
There’s a lot ahead, and we’re excited to start sharing what we’re building.

Move the target. The robot finds it again.
This visual grasping pipeline combines #IntelRealSenseD405 + #reBotArmB601-RS + #ROS2 + #YOLOE:
Detection → Depth → Hand-Eye Calibration → Grasp Pose → Pick & Place
Move the pen, and the system detects its new position, calculates a new grasp pose, and sends the arm to pick and place it.
The Seeed Wiki walks through the full #visualgrasping workflow — from camera & ROS setup to detection, calibration, grasp validation and the final grasp-and-place pipeline.
