The non-partisan tax foundation found that high income taxes hurt growth. It’s critical that Colorado voters reject Amendment 87 which would make Colorado the 9th highest taxed state. It’s not to late to vote No on amendment 87
States with no individual income tax (Florida, Texas, Tennessee, Nevada, and others) consistently rank among the strongest gainers, while states with the highest top rates (California at 13.3 percent, New York at 10.9 percent, and New Jersey at 10.75 percent) dominate the list of largest losers.

I don't really understand the concept of a biblical hierarchy; Marx's view is entirely foreign to me. It's clear that he and his wife agree that the "hierarchy" is "God, man, woman, child" in that order.
I'm not going to criticize their having whatever view they want to have; a different view is not synonymous with a "wrong" view. I am tolerant of pretty much any viewpoint that doesn't require its adherents to hurt me or steal my stuff. I will say that that Victor's sort of view will strike most Colorado voters as between odd and crazy.
How much will Victor Marx lose by? I don't know but at this point I'd be surprised if it's by less than 23 percent and I wouldn't be surprised if it's closer to 30%. It's not only that he's a grifter with no relevant experience (as far as running for governor), but it's also that his idiosyncratic not-entirely-mainstream Christian worldview, which might play in Oklahoma or Alabama, is not a fit outside of a subset of the GOP base in Colorado.

Higher taxes. Bigger government. And no one to stop them. Colorado Democrats are one seat short of a supermajority in each chamber. Your vote is the only veto left. #copolitics

Left wing economists are not really economists…they are political operatives. It started with Malthus…went on to Galbraith…and now it is Reich.
Brazil ETF down 22% on shocking election result. When I say shocking, I mean from the perspective that clearly the stock market and betting odds -- Lula was at about 20% going into the election -- were fairly convinced of a Bolsonaro victory. Jair must be very glum in his prison cell today.
I realize that governor is not a federal role, but Trump definitely gets involved in gov races from time to time (like in Ohio this week) so it's interesting that he doesn't mention @victormarx.
Of course, the most important thing when it comes to Trump is showing a winning record. That's why he'll often endorse people who he knows are going to win just so he can claim his endorsees win. And that's likely why he's not mentioning Marx who might create a new Colorado record for margin of loss by a major-party candidate.

Since the "very powerful" ad (as Trump puts it) was released earlier this week by @VivekGRamaswamy against his Dem opponent, Amy Acton, featuring Acton's estranged mother who was apparently married to a second husband who raped Acton, Ramaswamy's betting odds on @Kalshi of winning the Ohio governor's race have dropped from 30% to 19%.
This is the ad that @jdvance and now @realDonaldTrump have said Ramaswamy should keep up even after all decent people have said he should stop running it. Ramaswamy has said he'd keep running it but I bet ya he stops within the next 24 hours. Of course, Vance and Ramaswamy have both learned this behavior/mindset from Trump, namely that truth is irrelevant and that no behavior is too terrible to apologize for or even simply to stop doing.
I wonder how Republican Senate candidate Jon Husted feels about this mess. Over that same time period, his betting odds on his winning his race have dropped from 36% to 31%.
Trump also gave us Ken Paxton, Mike Collins, Michael Whatley, and Darline Graham (who will probably win but is a weak candidate). Both by his disastrous second-term as president and by endorsing weak Senate candidates, if the GOP loses control of the Senate everyone will understand whose fault it is. Maybe Michele Tafoya can save the Senate for the GOP...
I only care a little about the flag being upside down. A lot bigger fish to fry. But the way you had the left screaming that it was a racist deepfake was utterly insane.

A straightforward imperialist land-grab, in other words. Utterly bewildering that there are, even now, gullible Westerners talking about NATO expansion, poking the bear, US-sponsored coups and the like.
Putin on Ukraine:
The lands lost by Kyiv are not "their territory"; they are historically Russian lands.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Kyiv predates Moscow by centuries, and southern/eastern Ukraine was ruled by the Cossack Hetmanate and Crimean Khanate long before 18th-century Russian Imperial annexation. In 1991, every Ukrainian region voted overwhelmingly for independence, recognized by Russia 1994.

It's hard to imagine how Trump and Hegseth don't go down as the Neville Chamberlains of our age.
“Zelensky said the throttling of Ukrainian use of Starlink is still going on today. And if you listen to Secretary Hegseth, what he said was, ‘Well, that's just Starlink's terms of service.’ And what he seems to be saying is that Starlink has a speed limit on its use of its service and the Ukrainians were exceeding that.”
“But of course they were exceeding it, because people were dying and they're trying to save those lives. It would be like telling an ambulance they have to drive the speed limit even though the patient might die. So that's a terrible situation.”
“if Hegseth was for the Ukrainians having the ability to fight Russian drones, he would have said, ‘Oh my God, turn that back on.’ He didn't say that. He said, ‘Well, nothing I can do about it. I'm only the Secretary of Defense.’ He didn't say, ‘Oh my God, Elon, turn it back on because people are dying.’ That's what he could have said, but he didn't say that. So obviously he's okay with it, even if it wasn't his decision.”
“And going into negotiations, it gives Putin the upper hand, which is terrible for the for the Ukrainians. And if you were the Russians and you were getting all of this support from the Americans, including diplomatic support, a diesel deal, financial support, an invitation to the G20, the only conclusion you could draw is that Trump is on your side. And in that situation, the chance that Putin's going to make any real concessions is slim to none.”
I feel bad for @KatieZacharia. That said, she chose to put herself in a position where, if she had any skeletons in her closet, they were likely to come out. And if she had any flaws in her communications skill set, they were likely to come out.
That's a heck of a lot of damage to do to one's reputation in just a couple of days. She should be upset with herself and with whoever encouraged her to take the job and whoever encouraged Trump to offer her the job.
Obviously, it's not new for Trump to pick people he sees on Fox News and give them jobs they are not qualified for, like defense secretary.
It was a surprising pick in part because nobody has heard of her and part because he had said he was likely to pick a man so that the next person would not face the difficult comparison (at least as perceived by Trump and some others) to Karoline Leavitt. So you'd have to think that @ScottJenningsKY was really at the top of the list for most of the time and is likely to be the choice now.
Poor ol' Katie shattered Anthony Scaramucci's record
And all she's going to get out of it is ridicule and everybody in the world, knowing that she never passed the bar exam.
Again, much of the responsibility as hers, but I still do feel a little bit bad for her.
Not entirely sure who would want to start a new job in the sinking ship of the Trump administration right now anyway.
Your @KOAColorado radio morning crew
Me, @KOAJeana @DragonRedBeard
Another ugly win by the @Broncos, but now they are 4-2 after a brutal opening part of the season schedule.
This morning, @jaredpolis joined me on @KOAColorado and aggressively urged voters to vote no on 87. He described it as "game over" for Colorado's competitiveness if it passes.

In this @CNN interview, @killinforco says, “I don’t talk about that I’m a Democrat that much.”
I thought voters in #CO05 might want to see her in front of the #HarrisWalz plane. Seventh from the left, in case she forgot. She’s VERY much a Democrat. #copolitics

It's dismaying how many supporters of Russia there are on this platform. A combination of true fascists (not the way the left throws around the term), anti-Semites, idiots, and ignorant people being manipulated by those others.
How can anyone look at that war and not understand that Putin is not just Ukraine's enemy, but America's enemy as well?
Peace never comes through weakness. Today, representatives of the U.S. Congress were in Kyiv – a bipartisan delegation – and I am grateful to them for visiting Ukraine at such a difficult time. They asked: what is needed to end the war? The answer must be strong. There must be sanctions under the Lindsey Graham bill, there must be support for Ukraine in protecting lives, and there must be pressure on Russia for its war. And today, there was a conversation between the leaders of America and Russia. A conversation that leads to something different.
Recently, there was a European decision to lift sanctions on Russian oligarchs. Since then, Russian strikes and the torment of people have only increased. This past week alone, there was a brutal Russian missile strike on a residential building in Pryluky, aerial bombs were dropped on Kramatorsk – on ordinary city buses – and there have been constant attacks on Kyiv’s energy infrastructure and on the life-sustaining infrastructure in Dnipro, Kharkiv, Odesa, and our other cities. Dozens of people have been killed and hundreds wounded.
The Russians are compensating for their inability to achieve their objectives on the battlefield with this kind of terror. This year, Russia is weaker on the battlefield than at any other point in the war. That is why Putin is relying on terror. That is why he is relying on attempts to strike backroom deals to secure some form of pressure relief for Russia, in order to buy more time and more opportunities for war.
Any easing of sanctions against Russia without a clear and lasting de-escalation agreement with Russia is an obvious weakness. It plays into Russia’s hands – allowing it to kill more, wage war for longer, have even less respect for America, and inflict even greater losses and damage on the world.
Ukraine is ready to take symmetrical de-escalatory steps, and the American team knows our position. Our strikes on Russian oil refineries and other oil facilities are a response to Russia’s years-long campaign of terror against Ukraine’s energy sector. Ukraine will not set Russian oil refineries on fire if Russia does not destroy our energy infrastructure. This is the kind of agreement we are proposing to America, and we believe the United States has enough power to achieve such a compromise.
Gifts to Putin will not bring peace or any benefit to the civilized world. Russia will “repay” the diesel with further terror and perfidy. Allowing Russia to sell petroleum products is an investment in a war that must be ended, not prolonged. What is needed is real de-escalation with Russia on a reciprocal basis.
We count on America’s fair support for our defense of life, for our defense of people in Ukraine – and on the United States having a correspondingly strong conversation with Russia. A strong one, not a weak one.
I understand why Trump is willing to do almost anything to get diesel prices down, but he was just manipulated by Putin again because obviously the only reason Putin would go along with this is in order to get Trump to pressure Ukraine not to attack Russian refineries. Pretty pathetic move by Trump.
I don't care what eise Navi Pillay has done. For the Nobel committee to give her the Peace Prize when she is such a big part of this generation's blood libel against Israel, the claim of "genocide" that communist Islamist @ZohranKMamdani also spouts and which they know is utter nonsense intended solely to stoke hatred of Jews, is truly disgusting.
In a league with giving it to Yasser Arafat and worse than giving it to Algore, another famous purveyor of lies, or to Barack Obama who, at the time of receiving the prize, had done nothing whatsoever to deserve it other than being elected president while being black (and since then has still done nothing to deserve it.)
The @NobelPrize committee can go ____ themselves now that they've decided to join the ranks of global antisemites.
There's a new poll showing that 21% of likely voters think Trump is very likely or somewhat likely to actually send out $5000 checks if the GOP keeps both chambers of Congress. So 21% of the population is too stupid to be allowed to vote.
But what do you really think, Tony?
He comes across like the insecure, violent, vile, toxic, arrogantly stupid, mental and emotional midget he actually is... fake doctor, real jihadi Oompa Loompa @AbdulElSayed is the goat smelling, flatulent grifter Frankenstein that @georgesoros funded and built...
