They trade them for cost-controlled players and prospects who end up outperforming the traded away player. Did you read the article? That was kind of the point.
There's no "pancakes unlock the whole menu" at The Cheesecake Factory. The menu is a Haliburton, designed to imprison you with your choice of entree.

Cheesecake Factory Elitist recs:
- My go to order for YEARS was the crusted chicken romano but the key is to ask for a little extra sauce on the side. Pasta too dry otherwise.
- The sliders. Four people, one slider each? We're having a great time in a country where a burger is an appetizer.
- Egg roll sampler. Which is which? I still don't know, not supposed to know. Dip whatever, wherever.
- Twist: the veggie burger is also surprisingly good.
- Thai chicken lettuce wraps or salad.
- And chicken costoletta is hiding RIGHT behind the madeira just waiting for you to notice her.
- For dessert, Adam's Ripple is THE number one.

The Knicks' assistant coaches did not receive their championship rings during Tuesday's ceremony, despite being handed ring boxes, according to league sources.
Many longtime employees at Madison Square Garden will not receive rings at all, per team sources.
Those employees got their hopes up in late September, when they were sent a fake championship ring offer as part of a phishing test.
