The participants marched from City Hall car park along Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo Avenue, proceeding to 8th Street and Robert Mugabe Avenue before returning to the starting point. At the conclusion of the march, leaders representing different affiliates delivered solidarity messages, outlining their positions on the impact of sanctions and the need for Zimbabwe to pursue its development aspirations. I would like to thank you all. All affiliates must feel respected. I am a mother to all of you, not just one affiliate. I am not only a mother to Young Women for ED; I am also a mother to teachers, children of war veterans and everyone gathered here today,” she said. Cde Sibanda said the impact of sanctions should also be considered from the perspective of mothers, who often carry significant responsibilities in providing for their families. She noted that motherhood connects people across different backgrounds and organisations, adding that the effects of economic challenges can be felt within households and communities. “Everyone here came from a mother. When we talk about sanctions, the first person who feels the pain is a mother, because life begins with a mother. We are saying, down with sanctions,” she said. The gathering brought together members of different groups who used the occasion to express their views on sanctions and Zimbabwe’s economic development, with participants calling for their removal as part of broader efforts to improve livelihoods and advance national development goals. @zanupf_patriots @zanupfbyoinfo @munyamachacha @ZANUPF_Official @2023Focus @edmnangagwa @enkudheni @PhiriDadir50680 @SimangalisoDub5 @Jackie33283369 @ChirauMel @TendaiChirau @marapira_farai @MoeChanda @TateMavetera @ZANUPF19633 @mwacsmed @HonMonica1 @ApphiaNyaa

PAN-AFRICAN WALKER RAISES AWARENESS AGAINST CHILD ABUSE By Sam Mupedziswa | Zimfocus Online News A Pan-African child abuse awareness campaign walker, Mate Subulwa, has called on parents, communities and governments across Southern Africa to strengthen efforts to protect children from abuse, neglect, early marriages and teenage pregnancies. The Zimfocus Online News team encountered Subulwa yesterday along the Plumtree-Bulawayo highway, near the Amarula area in Matabeleland South, as he continued his awareness campaign walk across the region. In Plumtree, he was joined by Zanu PF Matabeleland South Youth League Amarula District chairman Shepard Sibanda, popularly known as Mandela, who accompanied him in support of the campaign. Subulwa said the initiative was aimed at drawing attention to the challenges facing vulnerable children and encouraging communities to take collective responsibility for their protection and welfare. Subulwa revealed that he had covered 2,224 kilometres as of yesterday since beginning the campaign on August 5. His journey has taken him through several towns and cities across the region, including Victoria Falls, Hwange, Plumtree, Francistown, Gaborone and Mahikeng. He said he was continuing his journey, with plans to proceed through Mozambique and Malawi before returning to Zambia, while also mentioning Harare as part of his intended route. “Children are the most vulnerable members of our society. They are being neglected, defiled and forced into early marriages. We are also witnessing teenage pregnancies and cases of missing children. To me, this is a war that we must fight together,” said Subulwa. He urged parents and communities not to leave child protection solely to the Government or international organisations, emphasising that safeguarding children begins within families and communities. He called on parents to provide proper care and support for their children, while urging authorities to strengthen child protection measures and impose appropriate penalties on those who sexually abuse children, facilitate child marriages or deny children access to education. “Our prayer is that families should take care of their children, and the community at large must also play its part. I am appealing to our governments to reach out to children and ensure that those who abuse them face stiff punishment. Children should not be denied education and forced to work on farms when they are supposed to be in school,” he said. Subulwa said children were the future leaders of the continent, stressing that protecting their rights, safety and access to education was a shared responsibility requiring action from parents, communities, governments and other stakeholders. His campaign serves as a call for greater awareness and collective action against child abuse, with communities encouraged to report abuse, support vulnerable children and help create safer environments in which every child can grow, learn and thrive. @treviousnjuzu @CMNhlansi @DumisoJnr22247 @JMarufu80198 @BMhungu3668 @SimangalisoDub5 @KMutisi @ChambatiLevison

ZIMBABWE REITERATES CALL FOR UNCONDITIONAL REMOVAL OF SANCTIONS By Sam Mupedziswa | Zimfocus Online News PRESIDENT Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa has reiterated Zimbabwe’s call for the immediate and unconditional removal of sanctions imposed on the country by some Western nations, describing the measures as unjustified impediments to economic development, investment and Zimbabwe’s full participation in global trade. The President made the remarks while addressing the nation on the occasion of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Anti-Sanctions Day commemorations on October 25, 2026, reaffirming Zimbabwe’s commitment to regional solidarity, international cooperation and economic transformation. The commemorations stem from a decision taken at the 39th SADC Summit, held in the United Republic of Tanzania, when regional leaders declared October 25 SADC Anti-Sanctions Day in a demonstration of solidarity with Zimbabwe. President Mnangagwa said the measures continued to affect the country’s development prospects, access to international finance and investment, as well as its participation in global trade. “Today, therefore, we accordingly demand the immediate and unconditional lifting of these heinous, unjustified and illegal unilateral sanctions,” said President Mnangagwa, while expressing appreciation to SADC member states and allies in the progressive world for their continued support in calling for their removal. The President emphasised the importance of a fair and just global order anchored on sovereign equality, non-interference in the internal affairs of states and the right of every country to determine its own development path. He said these principles remained fundamental to strengthening international relations and promoting cooperation among nations. This year’s commemorations are running under the theme, “Leveraging Regional Integration and Global Partnerships for Economic Transformation Beyond Illegal Sanctions,” which highlights the importance of regional integration and international partnerships in advancing Zimbabwe’s economic development aspirations. Guided by the foreign policy principle that Zimbabwe is “a friend to all and an enemy to none,” President Mnangagwa reaffirmed the country’s commitment to strengthening diplomatic relations, broadening international engagement and pursuing economic transformation through its national development agenda. The commemorations provide an opportunity for Zimbabwe and its regional partners to renew calls for the removal of sanctions while highlighting the importance of international cooperation, economic integration and mutually beneficial partnerships in advancing sustainable development across the region. @2023Focus @InfoMinZW @edmnangagwa @enkudheni @CdeMabhunu @CadreShangrila @DeptCommsZW @chrissy10charu @TendaiChirau @treviousnjuzu @CMNhlansi @ChirauMel @marapira_farai @nickmangwana @Jamwanda2 @DeptCommsZW @SimangalisoDub5 @discover_simpea @Jackie33283369
