it also doesn't stop being classist/xenophobic just because it's been done in classic lit? it's a problem in multiple spaces lmao

i love how many microscopic moments there are where nat comforts/reassures her 🥺
nat specifically referring to herself and misty as a unit after misty admits she was worried that nat wouldn't want to spend time with her of her own free will

TRUE! She’s doing it for women all over the world. Misty the Noble. Misty the Kind

She’s not gonna drug you AGAIN that would be boring. And if she did it’s not even a big deal. Anyways it’s kind of pathetically cute how much she enjoys pretending to be sinister so we should just humor her. Duh
Replying to @yellowjaques
Yeah, was thinking about this + the way the promo from last week seemingly used that scene to foreshadow her as the last one standing … she never “becomes one” with the wilderness?

he's just so boring 😭 i love elijah wood but some of those pacing choices were absolutely atrocious... i get the intent behind walter but. did we really need 2+ seasons of him?
Replying to @Margs_the_Comfy
oh it's definitely possible (likely, even) but I do think it's very important that this scene is placed first. it's important for shifting the way *all* of the girls perceive him and breaking their trust in his authority but the specific focus on Misty just makes me think. shrug
Replying to @catrahark
they were really giving misty NOTHING to work with in s2 it's so tragic.... especially after just how good s1 adult tl was
Replying to @amyelliottdone
ABSOLUTELY. she would have loved trying to get ai to generate images of caligula's humansona without actually providing a reference image
Replying to @SandsofTide @Margs_the_Comfy
she's punishing him but rather that him hitting her primes her to think of him in a more physical way than she did before. whether it's because she sees him break, or because she's reacting strongly to abuse targeting herself? who can say
Replying to @SandsofTide @Margs_the_Comfy
obviously the examples you've listed are all breaches of consent but trying to grope him in his sleep, tripping him, drugging him, coercing him into "admitting" attraction towards her... all of these start *after* he hits her
my intention with this observation isn't to say-
Replying to @Margs_the_Comfy
oh I don't mean to imply it did! She was definitely abusing her power as a caretaker beforehand, but most of her *sexual* harassment towards him only starts after this scene. while she ignores his boundaries before, she doesn't actually try to assault him until after this scene
Replying to @stardustalien16
"ooh nat you should stop humoring her it's bad for you don't encourage her" as if THEY want to deal with this?? like they would want misty stalking her and sabotaging their cars and smiling at them and buying them coffee. whatever
Replying to @abnormallynorml
no seriously i hope for their sakes they just want each other because if not what are we doing
