Redskins fans, here is the backstory behind the recent headlines about a purported “family” claiming they want the Redskins name back.
Kenneth Conway and Morningstar Gopher have not established their claimed connection to Chief Two Guns White Calf. Unlike Delphine White Calf, who provided her birth certificate to document her lineage, Conway has not provided comparable documentation and has refused DNA testing.
This raises serious questions about media outlets like Scripps who clearly did not adequately verify these claims or reviewed Conway’s tribal court lawsuit against the NFL, which contains assertions that contradict his current position.
There are also serious conflict-of-interest concerns involving attorney Denise Rosado, who previously represented us and is now representing Conway and Gopher in a competing trademark matter.

This is wild to me!! Kenneth Conway has refused to provide any evidence of his ancestry, whereas Delphine White Calf, who filed trademark applications for the Redskins, has provided birth certificates. Conway has sued the NFL over use of the name, now he wants it back?!
Furthermore, their attorney, Denise Rosado, previously represented us as the attorney of record on our USPTO REDSKIN application. Her representation of these individuals in the same matter presents a clear conflict of interest.
We have filed complaints with the Arizona State Bar, the USPTO, and the D.C. Bar regarding her conduct, including concerns that she is practicing law in D.C. without being admitted to the D.C. Bar.
She was also terminated from the FCC last year and has filed EEO discrimination complaints against the U.S. Department of Commerce and the FCC.
🇺🇸 Descendants of the Native American chief who inspired the Washington Redskins logo want Trump's help restoring the NFL team's former name and image.
“They tried to erase us, like we didn't exist anymore,” said Kenneth Conway, whose family says it was never consulted before the 2020 change.
The family also wants the Commanders' new stadium named after Chief Two Guns White Calf, with plans to meet team representatives in November.

It was an Honor to finally meet my brothers who are helping with our family history, here in our beloved mountains and home of the Blackfeet Nation reservation- Glacier National Park. Our family showed you the St. Mary’s area where our great uncle Chief John Two Guns White Calf along with my great great grandfather’s who loved setting up their lodge’s throughout this area. To this day’ our Blackfeet hold traditional way’s and ceremonies such as Face Painting ceremonies. We will continue advocating for our history and to those who want to learn…education is key to know our way of life and for my family, it wasn’t easy to get this much support…we had to start with never existing and not being talked to until we found & met great people who are now friends who help share our story.
