Working my way through the population data revisions in the new quarterly demographic estimates release from Statcan, and they're pretty significant. The population decline reported over the last year has essentially been erased in the revisions.

And the final update to this saga:
I was just at his sentencing. The prosecution had asked for 15 months in prison because of the randomness and aggression in his assault on me and his extremely long history of violent crime (43 prior convictions).
The defense asked for no time because he is black and jail made him sad (yes really).
The judge decided on a “middle ground” sentence of 9 days in jail, of which he will serve 6 days.
:)
WELL I was assaulted by a schizo homeless guy today in Toronto.
I was walking to the grocery store when he started stalking me. I tried to get away from him but it didn’t work. He grabbed me, pinned me against a fence, and then tried to break my hand to steal my phone. Three people passing by helped save me.
The police were quick and kind, but the officer I spoke with told me this guy had been arrested for attacking people repeatedly in the past month, and “fair warning, a judge will probably let him out by tomorrow morning.”
🫠 lovely system we got goin on here folks

Ontario Justice Gethin Edward should be sanctioned and removed from the bench for this insanity.
This person got blind drunk, got behind the wheel and killed a 12 year old girl. Nobody poured the booze down his throat or forced him to drive. It was his decision, no matter what his background is.
The judge claims prison time would obstruct his efforts to "regain his culture".
How about the young girl's ability to grow up and live her life?

Retired respondents are more willing than full-time workers to accept higher costs indefinitely.
44% of blue-collar respondents will not accept higher costs, whereas 20% of white-collar respondents will.
33% of those aged 30 to 44 and 35% aged 45 to 59 would not accept any higher costs, compared with 19% aged 60 to 74 and 14% aged 75 or older.

So gunmen confine a man and his family in his house, then shoot the man's son.
The man does the right thing, wrestling a weapon from one of the gunmen and chases them from the house, shooting along the way.
Thoroughly outstanding behaviour, especially in a country with rampant crime, gangs, and illegal guns.
Instead of commending the man for his courage, the government picks up where the gunmen left off, confining him to his house and making him a criminal.
Incompetent policing teamed with malfeasant judges. Very bleak.

You've likely seen the headlines from bills C-34, C-36, and C-22 in the media.
Each may sound reasonable on their own: protect kids online, modernize privacy, help police catch criminals.
But buried within is an emerging Digital Regulatory Superpower unlike anything Canadians have ever seen.
These bills hand one unelected commission power over what Canadians can say, what stays private, and who the state can watch.
As of today, the Federal Government is rushing to enact massive Internet Surveillance Reform into law without proper debate.
You have to read Bill C-34 on The Commission to believe it. It sets the rules on age verification, social media bans, and content removals while serving as combined regulator, investigator and advocate. At the start, Chair alone can be the full Commission.

A lot of non-Canadians don’t know that Canada has a race-based legal system that guarantees Indigenous offenders lower sentences. Even for extremely violent crimes, like rape, murder, or choking babies.
The other side of that fact is that this has created a bustling economy for liberal academics and activists, who get paid millions of government dollars every year to scratch their retarded heads over why Indigenous communities have such high crime rates.
So if you want a clear picture of what this looks like in practice, take this example:
Indigenous men beat their wives and girlfriends, who are usually also Indigenous, at very high rates. They will rarely get put in prison, with courts typically opting to just send them to fluffy, culturally sensitive drum beating tipi healing circles. In other words, they are effectively free to just continue beating their wives or girlfriends.
An academic or activist sees this, and then gets money from the government to study why domestic violence rates are so high in Indigenous communities.
After a few hundred thousand dollars in “research funds”, the conclusion is never “it’s because these violent men aren’t getting taken off the street and appropriately punished after committing domestic violence.” Never.
It is always, somehow, that the justice system is racist.
It truly is an incredible racket.

It's pretty obvious at this point that the Carney plan is to try to keep this country in a perpetual state of hate and fear towards the US and use this to keep himself popular. His video today, with its long and gratuitous evocation of the 1812 war, makes this clearer than ever.
