A serious question. If someone genuinely believes that a Doctor has made an error, why would that person saying that they believe a referral to the GMC is justified be seen as making threats? bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cly0…

Let's be honest about this. Home school transport is provided under the Education Act but is actually a means by which councils fulfil their duty under the Equality Act to ensure equity of access. Are councils really proposing we rip up the Equality Act and all that entails?
There's some nuance here beneath the headline ("Council spending on special needs transport doubles"), but school transport is endlessly presented as subject to "demand". This language stinks. If it's the only way of getting to school, it's need. bbc.in/3TBhFPf

The @ChildrensComm is right - the SEND system isn't working for children as it should. But radical reform isn't the answer. The law on support for children w/ SEND couldn't be clearer, but it isn't being followed. The system needs to be made to work, not reformed all over again.

Much more needs to be done as to why concerns were ignored. Locally, people who raise concerns over fitness to practice are seen as threatening colleagues and managed as being bullies. @MartinGannon002 and @samanthallen so far your organisations have turned a blind eye.......
Dr Ravi Jayaram is one of the consultant paediatricians who tried & tried & tried to raise concerns about Lucy Letby. His trust stonewalled, threatened & gaslit him - then forced him to attend mediation with Letby & apologise to her. Please read his words 👇

87% of parents with disabled children who experience a lack of support say they have high levels of mental health issues. (@DCPCampaign) If you can relate to this, please reach out to someone for advice. We can also help: buff.ly/40QRasa #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek

I have personally heard every single comment in that article from a CCN. I also know a complex child with a single digit % delivery rate of their care package, but the CCN was more concerned about the NHS politics of raising it as a concern than about a child and family being 1/2

failed. We have some amazing CCNs, but we also have some not so good ones resulting in articles like this. The fact the good CCNs are more concerned about someone getting their job title wrong than children being in situations like this speaks volumes. 2/2

It’s just not realistic expecting anyone in a frontline uniformed service to work for 50 years before they can retire on their full pension! So why are Prison Officers expected to work until their state pension age? #68istoolate @POAUnion @DominicRaab @JusticeUnions

Quoting @POAnatchair testimony to @CommonsJustice, shadow minister Lord Ponsonby of Shulbrede tells Peers: “If I join now as an 18-year-old recruit, I have to work for 50 years on the frontline before I can access my full pension” #68istoolate 9/19

Your occasional reminder that EHCP stands for Education, Health and Care Plan, not Education and Healthcare Plan. Social care matters.

A local family was accused of making threats for calmly qeurying if a social worker failing to act was a safeguarding or professional standards issue, when a disabled child was receiving less than half the provision they'd been assessed as needing in their CIN plan.

Just read this: 'we currently have a reactive, single disease oriented, low value, high complexity biomedical system which is not designed for people living with multiple long term conditions but paradoxically is primarily populated by them' Seems to sum it up...

Our officers work hard, day and night, to ensure prisons are safe environments that protect the public. A great example at HMP Wandsworth yesterday where they skilfully intervened to enter a barricaded cell and provide the care needed to a vulnerable prisoner. True hidden heroes

According to @SpcialNdsJungle parents win @95% in cases in the SEND ftt, but instead of changing practice LAs seem to want the law changed instead. This thread gives a fascinating insight as to how gov works in practice, perhaps this explains some of the SEND issues?
This is good about @instituteforgov fringe re trust in Govt. As @NotThatBiglan namechecks me in the piece, allow me to add to it – because I was also on a panel at a related @ifgevents about “how to make the civil service more efficient & work better”. 🧵1/

Love this coroner. Wading through this filth and making people account for contemptible statements/actions.

C: you're suggesting there to colleagues, a large number of colleagues that what is motivating Julia is financial gain on her part. KTF: I wouldn't say.
