He took a country whose greatest achievement had been the occasional qualification for international tournaments and delivered the only three titles in its entire history. (None of them rigged btw 🤭) His legacy is firmly cemented.

Football belongs to the fans! Thank you to all the fans around the world, the Ballon D’Or of All Time is also yours.

How do you have 8 Ballon d'Ors, but when the world is asked to vote on the single most impressive, dominant, and undisputed individual win ever, they pick the guy who has 5? This is what you get when half of your awards are heavily disputed as charity handouts from FIFA.
Siuu.

Lewandowski wasn't robbed in 2020. France Football cancelled the Ballon d'Or because of COVID before the Champions League knockouts, and that decision was understandable. The real robbery was 2021.
Messi won largely on the strength of the Copa América, yet Alexis Sánchez won the same tournament and its best-player award in 2016 without even making the Ballon d'Or top 30. Lewandowski was far superior at club level in 2021.
The Ballon d'Or's biggest problem is inconsistency, and somehow that inconsistency always seems to favour Messi.

France Football ranked Messi in the Top 10 because the WC has suddenly become an influential factor in Ballon d’Or voting. But guess who won the ballon d'or in 2010 with ZERO wc goals. Just GUESS.
The corruption is hilarious at this point.
