Just fine tuned Qwen 2.5-4B on my 3060 as a test. Very good results. Went well, now setting up a fine tuning run with qwen3.5-4b with part of my codebase and docs as a training corpus. If that goes well I may run the whole thing as fp16 on my Spark cluster.

You know, folks, it's not like we walked into the election unaware of the problems. I didn't know how bad it really was, but we all knew something was wrong a long time ago. Now Bondi and Wiles are gone and Miller is in as Chief of Staff. Is it too late?

we have a winner for the most absurd AI startup ever this Peter Thiel backed company uses AI robots to stab fish in the brain so they taste better and last up to 3x longer it's called Shinkei and it modernizes a centuries-old Japanese technique dozens of Michelin-star restaurants are already lining up to buy the fish here's how it works: > the problem is when a fish gets caught, it usually just suffocates on the boat > that stress floods the meat with hormones and lactic acid, which hurts the flavor and texture > the old Japanese fix for this was spiking the fish through the brain right after the catch, which stops all that > but doing it by hand is impractical for most American fishing crews > so Shinkei built a fridge-sized robot that sits right on the boat's deck > the crew feeds in a fish and AI identifies the exact species, so it knows exactly where the brain and gills are > the robot then drives the spike through the brain and cuts near the gills in about 7 seconds > the fish goes into an ice slurry so the blood drains out > so the fish doesn't sit there stressing out, and that tasty flavor and texture is preserved example number 5,392,417 of how AI can be applied to literally anything

Important to understand that AI is not just an automation tool, it is a teaching tool to help even very sophisticated people improve their understanding.
JOE ROGAN: The computing power on your phone today. can you beat your phone at the highest level? MAGNUS CARLSEN: No. No chance. JOE ROGAN: That’s crazy. Wasn’t Deep Blue basically a whole stack of computers? And your phone is probably more powerful than that today. MAGNUS CARLSEN: It’s shocking. I have no chance against my phone. JOE ROGAN: So how do you even play against computers? MAGNUS CARLSEN: I rarely play against engines because they just make me feel stupid and useless. I think of them more as a tool. JOE ROGAN: But have computers actually changed how you understand chess? MAGNUS CARLSEN: Absolutely. Neural networks have improved our understanding of the game immensely. JOE ROGAN: What did you learn from them that humans weren’t already doing? MAGNUS CARLSEN: One big thing was long-term king safety. Humans used to push pawns mainly as an attacking tool. But the engines showed that you could push a pawn and create a weakness 20 or 30 moves later that would make the opponent’s king less safe. JOE ROGAN: So the computer basically showed you ideas that humans weren’t seeing. MAGNUS CARLSEN: Exactly. There was a period where you could clearly see which players were using these new neural-network ideas and which weren’t. JOE ROGAN: And you were one of the guys who figured it out early? MAGNUS CARLSEN: Yeah. My coach got into it very quickly, and we gained an advantage over almost everybody. JOE ROGAN: That’s insane. The machines aren’t just better at calculating, they’re actually teaching the best players how to think differently. MAGNUS CARLSEN: That’s probably the biggest impact they’ve had on chess.

Gotta say I am not surprised. This job has no upside right now.

I love this topic because it is so American. N****a is what I call a Word of Power. It comes from the word n*****r, but was adopted by black people in the rap community in the 80s as a means of defiance and assertion of identity. Jay-Z has spoken about this. "Taking back the word" is how he put it. The rule of a Word of Power is that only members of the group can use it. Uttered by anyone else, it is regarded as the previous word, as a slur. The funny thing about a Word of Power is that the more successful it becomes, and the more the previous out-group and their culture is accepted by mainstream society, the more diluted the word becomes, until members of the mainstream group begins to adopt it, not as a slur, but as a means of identifying with the previous out-group. We see this now among members of Gen Z. I don't know whether the word ever completely loses its power; that would imply that the in-group/out-group disparity has completely vanished. To that point, whether someone outside the group could use it now is highly contextual and dependent on the attitude of the members of the group that are present at the time. Some people might think it's funny, some people might be offended. Hard to say, really. Best to just not use it at all.
According to this Korean textbook, the proper way to greet in english is: "What's up, my nigga?" is this true?

This is a formal request for Susie Wiles and James Blair to stop harassing me with texts and calls. If there is a factual inaccuracy in what I said, send it to me in writing and I will vigorously correct and apologize for any misstatements. I will note that everything I said is substantiated by other senior officials. If you want to file a lawsuit and get into discovery of whether it’s provably true that Ballard and Continental had an undue influence on the White House policy process, do it. I believe we are in an existential moment for the country, and Americans were owed an honest accounting of the past two years so we identify the problems we need to move on from.

Is this guy Stutzman still in office? Put him on the list of wimps to be primaried.
"Horrible decision." GOP Rep. Marlin Stutzman isn't holding back after President Trump names Stephen Miller his new White House chief of staff, a move that has several House Republicans furious following the party's midterm losses. Multiple GOP lawmakers tell Fox News Digital they wanted Miller fired, not promoted, arguing his hardline immigration policies damaged the party's standing with voters, particularly in Latino communities. One Republican even calls Miller a "megalomaniac," though the lawmaker also argues he isn't solely responsible for the election losses. The White House is defending Miller's record, but lawmakers are revealing what happened when they confronted him behind closed doors. foxnews.com/politics/house-g…

I spent two years working with Stephen Miller. His appointment as White House chief of staff is among the most dangerous personnel decisions in the history of our republic. I say that without reservation.

This is too good an opportunity to miss. Get a budget reconciliation bill that funds critical agencies so the Democrats can't hold the country hostage to their budget demands. Well done by Thune if this works.
🚨🚨 BREAKING: JOHN THUNE JUST DREW A LINE IN THE SAND 🚨🚨 Senate Majority Leader John Thune just announced he will ONLY cancel the August recess for the SAVE America Act… IF Republicans can deliver 50 hard votes on a budget reconciliation bill with SAVE attached. This is it. This is the moment of truth. Thune says he’s “for anything” that gets SAVE passed… But only if we can PROVE there’s a real path forward. No more excuses. No more hiding behind recess. No more sitting around while election integrity hangs by a thread. Senate Republicans: either you stay, fight, and force every single Senator on the record for secure elections… or you go home and prove you were never serious. The American people are watching. History is watching. FIGHT. HARD. NOW. 🇺🇸🔥 Demand they cancel recess. Demand 50 votes. Demand the SAVE America Act.

Oh look, a bunch of girl-bosses destroyed Trump's second term. Who could have sen that coming?
As we all seek to untangle the infiltration that Susie Wiles created, one name is being brought up over and over and over again. Brooke Rollins. Corruption, lobbyist influence, stalling the agenda, subverting MAHA, people on the ground are saying it keeps tracing straight back to her. But then that leads us straight to Heidi Overton who Brooke Rollins put in power. Man Susie’s web of corruption and subversion runs so deep it’s appalling.

The largest rental properties owners in America is being approached by home builders to offload homes at a whopping 30% discount. They DO NOT want them. Why? Because they're 50% overpriced. Rents DO NOT cover the mortgage. Now it gets fun. They're not only NOT buying in bulk at 30% off. They're net SELLING houses. Buckle the fuck up
