This is all just utterly bizarre. Are the DUP now saying political events like this won’t ever be attended in future ever by them as they are just a waste of time ‘set pieces’. Unionism is so lost

Cutting your own and everyone else’s noses off to spite your face
Given the seriousness of the circumstances surrounding Michelle O’Neill’s recent reckless conduct, and the damage it has done to the operation of our joint office, I have withdrawn agreement to attendance at tomorrow’s engagements in Glasgow. This follows on the back of stopping separate planned engagements, including with the President of Ireland, Catherine Connelly over the last number of weeks and I have not agreed further activities or events. I do not take this action lightly. The situation surrounding the First Minister’s recent conduct remains extremely serious. There is significant anger, hurt and legitimate public discontent arising from her actions. These concerns cannot simply be dismissed or minimised. This is an exceptionally serious matter, particularly given the responsibilities of the office she holds and the importance of public confidence in the rule of law. Of further concern is the First Minister’s continuing refusal to recognise or meaningfully acknowledge the depth and legitimacy of the discontent caused by her behaviour. Her approach has contributed to a significant deterioration in confidence and in the working relationship necessary to discharge the responsibilities of our joint office. Northern Ireland will not miss out. I have requested a separate meeting with the Prime Minister to ensure Northern Ireland’s interests, including the urgent budgetary and funding challenges facing the Executive, continue to be represented directly.

Jim, why all this over standing on a road when you're facing an actual assault charge? Has your party demanded your removal? If not, why not?

The Economic Forum tomorrow matters to the people of NI. That we won't be represented at a major UK conference to support NI because of the DUP's internal wranglings is not only disgraceful, but self-defeating, self-harming and short-sighted.

Tomorrow, the British Prime Minister will host an economic summit in Glasgow alongside the First Ministers of Scotland and Wales. The DUP’s Emma Little-Pengelly has decided to block both herself and First Minister Michelle O’Neill from attending. This is reckless and irresponsible. This is a reactive stunt driven by the DUPs own internal pressures and electoral problems. The public should not pay the price. It is a missed opportunity to make the case for investment, jobs, a fair budget and nurses’ pay. Michelle has made clear to the British Secretary of State that locally elected Ministers are best placed to represent local interests. Our focus remains on delivering for people across every community.

Never once have I seen any of these sad freaks use their positions of power to improve the lives of anybody they represent All they exist to do is divide and obstruct. A completely useless party
💥⚠️BREAKING: 'Joint activities cease with First Minister Michelle O'Neill. We will ensure she will not be at Remembrance Sunday' - DUP won't collapse Executive for now, but 'options are available' 🎤🎥@duponline leader @GRobinsonDUP has announced that deputy First Minister @little_pengelly will cease participating in joint engagements with Sinn Féin First Minister Michelle O’Neill. Mr Robinson said Ms Little-Pengelly would also withhold permission for Ms O’Neill to undertake engagements alone in her capacity as First Minister. While stopping short of withdrawing Ms Little-Pengelly from her post, a move that would collapse the Stormont Executive, the DUP leader refused to rule out taking that step in the future. The announcement follows a meeting of DUP party officers today to discuss their response to a police investigation involving Ms O’Neill and several Sinn Féin colleagues over their participation in an allegedly unlawful protest on the Garvaghy Road in Portadown last month. More on-air and online from Chief Reporter @jamesgould23.

Jamie, without Twitter you'd be standing on an upturned milk crate outside Belfast City Hall, delivering your latest revolutionary proclamation to three Saturday shoppers and a pigeon. Yet somehow you've convinced yourself you're the commander-in-chief of unionism, given Unionism is all over the show, you found a gap- well done, you. Ffs, the delusions of grandeur are extraordinary, amusing as feck, but still delusional You keep insisting this isn't a political rally, yet you've spent multiple posts promoting it like you're personally organising the Second Coming, putting yourself front and centre . At this stage, it sounds less like an Orange Order event and more like a political slumber party for yourself, Carla Lockhart and Jim Allister. All that's missing is a flatbed truck, three microphones and a competition to see who can mention Sinn Féin, human rights, nationalists and Ireland most often before bedtime; my money is on Jim 'I walked away from Ulster resistance before it got scary," Allister. And where exactly is the Orange Order in all this? It's supposedly their event, yet we hear considerably more from you than from the people you're claiming to support. The 35 Orangemen must be wondering when they'll actually get a word in, although given you keep telling us they are "old men", they really should be able to remember how divisive their presence at Drumcree was and how it cost both sides of the community At this stage, Jamie, your political allegiances are another spectacle altogether. Who will it be next week? I see you are now running Robinson into the ground. FFS, one minute you're championing one unionist politician, the next you're practically hanging off the arm of another. Whoever gives you a passing glance or a few minutes of attention suddenly becomes your latest political soulmate. It's like watching political speed dating, except you're the only one who thinks it's a serious relationship. Embarrassing doesn't begin to cover it. You've spent the last few weeks behaving like a child who got Twitter for Christmas and hasn't put the bloody thing down. Another proclamation, another dramatic warning, another Paisley "LITE" impression from the comfort of your armchair. Even Paisley occasionally stopped talking Strip away the flags, the theatrical speeches and the enormous self-importance, and you're still a loyalist blogger with a background in picking up criminal convictions and despatching the odd taxi, not the commander-in-chief of unionism. The irony is delicious. You're telling everyone this isn't political while treating Portadown like your own personal party conference. And when the microphones are packed away, Twitter goes quiet, and the crowd goes home, you'll still be Jamie Bryson. The milk crate will be waiting outside City Hall, big fella
