"The beauty and majesty of VMI lie in its commitment to the individual, to treating everyone not as members of groups, but rather as individual human beings with inherent dignity."

Thank you for your support @KarenHamiltonVA! VMI has never failed Virginia. Virginia cannot fail @VMI1839 now!
More support for @VMI1839! Yes, the Institute produces outstanding graduates who are citizen soldiers, but it is also a vital part of our national security.
Department of War Statement on Proposed Legislation Affecting the Virginia Military Institute
The Department of War is monitoring Virginia House Bill 1374, focused on the governance of the Virginia Military Institute (VMI), with significant concern. For generations, the unique military environment at VMI has made the Institute a vital source of commissioned officers for the Armed Forces.
The stability of this proven leadership pipeline is a matter of direct national security interest and any action that could disrupt the ecosystem requires our full attention. DoW reserves the right to take extraordinary measures to protect the integrity of VMI and our commitment to the cadets and midshipmen currently training there remains steadfast.
We urge the Virginia General Assembly to consider the broader implications of this bill on military readiness, as well as the federal government's long-standing investment in this critical institution.
A great toolkit here for supporters of @VMI1839. Well done @vmialumni, thanks for joining the fight!

A great night in Richmond as @SoVMIPAC hosted candidates including @JohnReid4VA! They know VMI is good! #RahVaMil
A salute to all the great VMI alums who have signed up to support me and my campaign! Thank you!!
The Spirit of VMI (@SoVMIPAC) is alive and Virginia’s finest institutions deserve to be recognized and respected and preserved not vilified and sanitized with a fake modern morality.
I really appreciated the chance to see all the folks who came out for our Richmond reception last night.
My Grandfather was VMI Class of 1925- he enrolled when he was 16 years old and later served in the US Navy. Many of my friends from St. Christopher’s attended in the 90’s. This is important to preserve for a new generation of citizen/soldier leaders.
Many thanks to these alums and local leaders for their financial support and votes! I will do my best to save the best of Virginia if I am Lt. Governor!!

Fellow Alumni and Friends of VMI, the time is, indeed, now. There is a battle being waged in the war for the soul of the Institute.

#OTD in 1864 Confederate forces commanded by Major General John C. Breckinridge, a former Vice President of the United States, defeated Union forces under General Franz Sigel at New Market, Virginia. Key to that victory was participation of the Cadet Battalion of the @VMI1839. Placed in the line at a desperate moment by Breckinridge, who uttered, “Put the boys in, and may God forgive me for the order," the Cadets, ages 15 to 18, led a charge forcing a Yankee retreat.
Of the 257 VMI Cadets engaged, 10 were killed and 47 wounded. The @SoVMIPAC honors the memory and sacrifice of these brave young men. Lest we forget.
Died on the field of honor, sir!
The latest edition of The Sentinel is out. There is an insightful interview with Quintin Elliott '85 and the @SoVMIPAC talks about the opportunity for the next Superintendent at @VMI1839.
