Where do Lucy Letby myths - and there are many - actually come from?
The always excellent @AnneBoleynBooks has diligently excavated two more pieces of pure bullshit. Vapourfacts sometimes spread by a podcast whose company was paid by Cheshire Police.

The judgement of Sir Robin Spencer, the single judge who refused Lucy Letby's first leave to appeal, has not been made public. I'm being stonewalled by the Court of Appeal who are bizarrely trying to claim the judgement is confidential.

The question this BMJ article should be asking is can cot cams in neonatal nurseries stop nurses from being falsely accused of murder? The reactions to the proposal are somewhat mixed. bmj.com/content/394/bmj-2026…

New evidence coming to light on air embolism cases. Strengthens Letby claims, I’m told. As result - delaying Dr Dewi Evans full interview out of fairness.

Not just the present administration: Every government since the CCRC was established has starved it of funds.
I was absolutely staggered to learn today that @becomeajudge has about the same number of staff/commissioners, and larger budget, than the criminal justice watchdog.

The Defended Self: Such certainty of murder might be a psychological defence - used by consultants and expert witnesses - to manage helplessness felt when babies collapsed in their care. Projection, splitting and blame are powerful ways to deny one’s own fallibility. #lucyletby

LAWYERS PAID FIRST
Government figures show £17.6m in legal costs on the Overturned Convictions scheme. That is equal to 26% of the redress paid.
These postmasters had already been cleared by the courts.
Why does it cost so much to pay people we already know were wronged?
