Took me a while to notice this went viral lol. I see the true Canada was put all out in the open based off that one original tweet everyone was quoting. I’m glad Twitter is still Twitter. Canada’s image can’t be whitewashed anymore.

That’s often what people are suggesting when they tell chronically ill and disabled people to take a social media break…lol

An absolute nothing burger acute (vaccinated) #Covid infection has left me unable to drive due to the mental focus required. To only read for 30 minutes (good day)
Losing words. Losing short memory. Intermittent poor vision. Screaming tinnitus.
I'm terrified of where it leads.

Elon Musk spent $44 BILLION buying Twitter, only to become the biggest meme on his own platform.
Imagine paying that much money to get roasted for free, it's GLORIOUS.
I love this for him. 🤣

Delighted to announce that my poem "Simultaneities" won 2nd prize (and $1000 – a nice surprise!) in the 2026 University of Canberra Health Poetry Prize. Congrats to the winner, A Frances Johnson. All shortlisted poems will be published in an anthology, "Conditions of Living" 🥳

The fear and resistance didn’t appear out of nowhere.
In Feb–March 2020, USA officials actively told the public not to wear masks.
The Surgeon General tweeted “Seriously people STOP BUYING MASKS! They are NOT effective in preventing general public from catching Coronavirus.”
Fauci said on 60 Minutes “There’s no reason to be walking around with a mask.”
Fauci later said the earlier “don’t wear masks” guidance was mainly to save PPE for healthcare workers and because officials did not yet fully understand asymptomatic spread.
On April 3, the CDC changed its advice and began recommending cloth masks in public because of new evidence that people could spread Covid asymptomatically.
The WHO promoted advice against masking until June.
When President Trump announced the new CDC guidance, he called it “voluntary” and said he would not wear a mask himself.
That rapid, poorly explained reversal from “masks don’t help the public and may even increase risk” to “masks are essential” created lasting distrust.
That sudden flip, combined with social media posts claiming masks cause CO2 poisoning and framing them as tools of control, is why a simple piece of filtration media still triggers such strong fear and loathing in so many people.

Black people deserve more than your thanks. We deserve racial equality in this country

Reminds me how I recently told a lefty friend about being incapacitated by long Covid & feeling abandoned by society
They started lecturing me:
“No, you shouldn’t say you’ve been abandoned by society, you’ve been abandoned by the GOVERNMENT”

Do animals know we’re wearing clothes or do they just think we get a new skin everyday

Replying to @mercurial_moons
Rats either get it immediately or learn very quickly that it isn't skin. I've never had one groom clothing the way they do my skin/hair/nails.
