#stoicsense - The crime rate in the black community is due to the father absence phenomenon. Just remind me who's been writing all the social policies/wider legislation for the BAME community and how they feel about "the western prescribed nuclear family unit"???? – at Wales, United Kingdom

Nearly four months since Ann Widdecombe was so cruelly taken from us. The mainstream media and many others may have moved on, but some of us haven't forgotten you. Rest in peace, Ann. You deserved so much better. 🕊

Interesting fact: Millions of women are narcissists/psychopaths. They are equally as exploitative, manipulative, dishonest, good at playing the victim, predatory, harmful, sadistic as their male counterparts. Some are pretty, softly spoken, meek... they are just as dangerous!

Record numbers of kids have been referred to the Prevent counter-terror scheme. Why? Because their woke teachers treat even mainstream right-wing views as signs of radicalisation. This panic over the ‘manosphere’ must stop, says Joanna Williams buff.ly/RQzKAK5

This is exactly how Communists think: anyone who dares to disagree with them deserves the wrath of the State and the Party. That is why Communist regimes have killed more people than any other political systems in history.

The evidence around children’s social media use and poor mental health is mixed and far from conclusive. Yet politicians and some campaigners are now pushing for blanket under-16 bans. Their confidence is difficult to reconcile with the research: - major reviews find small and inconsistent associations between time spent on social media and mental health - large studies following children over time reach different conclusions about whether increased use predicts later distress - much of the experimental evidence comes from adults and university students, rather than the children these bans would affect - short, voluntary reductions in use tell us little about the consequences of compulsory, long term exclusion, they also suffer from a placebo effect as participants always know their assigned role - studies often bundle together very different activities, content and experiences under screen time, when we know that experiences can vary and many have positive ones - the US National Academies concluded that the evidence insufficient to recommend bans - lasting benefits from restrictions, as well as their effectiveness in the world of VPNs, remain entirely unproven, while the potential costs of losing access to friendships, communities and support has not been assessed - the potential for partners to lose track and control, as well as children being pushed to unregulated and more dangerous platforms, is rarely considered, nor is children’s right to access information and public debate None of this requires believing that every platform is benign or that every child’s interaction with social media is positive. It is nevertheless very important to question whether the policy being proposed will actually improve children’s lives.

Relationships in the UK are on the decline. Today, we reveal that a 25 year old is 26 times more likely to live with his mum than his wife. Why does it matter? Because the quality of our relationships is one of the strongest predictors of a happy, healthy life. New project (1/3)👇

New Research | Psychoanalysis & Identity Politics In a new paper published in the American Journal of Psychoanalysis, Professor Jon Mills examines the growing influence of identity politics on psychotherapy and its implications for clinical practice. His central argument: therapeutic integrity requires a renewed commitment to universal principles of care, rather than political ideology. 🚨 A mental health nurse who possessed 182 indecent images of children, including babies, has avoided immediate prison after being handed a suspended sentence. Kirsty Robins, 46, from Norwich, admitted nine offences after police discovered the material on her Samsung phone. The images depicted children ranging from babies to 14-year-olds. 81 were Category A, the most serious classification, involving the sexual abuse and torture of children. Investigators also uncovered disturbing online conversations in which Robins discussed child abuse, indecent behaviour around youngsters and sexual activity involving animals. Despite the nature of the material, Norwich Magistrates’ Court sentenced her to just 12 months in prison, suspended for two years. She was also ordered to undergo probation supervision and mental health treatment, made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and placed on the sex offenders’ register for 10 years. Robins had worked as a mental health nurse and previously held a ward matron position caring for people with dementia at Norfolk and Suffolk NHS. Her defence told the court that she had lost her job and her relationship had broken down as a result of her offending. No immediate prison sentence for someone who possessed 81 Category A images of child sexual abuse. Source UK Database.

In a stunning innovation, Greater Manchester’s police have discovered that if officers turn up to burglaries (instead of screening them out as “low-level”), talk to people, look at CCTV, do forensics and chase the local career criminals, they solve nearly three times as many as the national average and cut break-ins in half. Truly novel. Who knew the beating heart of policing might involve neighbourhood bobbies catching local burglars? A model for the ages.
