This is a terrible video in every way possible. The city of San Diego took an elderly man’s wheelchair today and crushed it in the trash truck..in front of him. This doesn’t solve anything, this is cruelty.

It's absolutely wild that some of the wealthiest individuals and corporations in human history have poured nearly half a million dollars into the Prop 1B campaign in just ONE month and hardly any press is covering it. 1/
After you share, go to letsbuildingsocialhousing.or… and sign up for a canvassing shift this weekend and a phone banking shift Monday and Tuesday. We only lose this election if our people don't turn out, so let's make sure they know it's time to vote THIS COMING TUESDAY. 5/

I cannot stress enough how the situation in the West Bank is intensifying.
22 Palestinians killed in a single week. At least 5 Palestinians killed in two different airstrikes in Jenin in the last hours.
We are witnessing unprecedented violence from the Israeli military while settlers expand illegal settlements across the West Bank.

New zine, link below:
ALT a printed zine titled "Recognizing and Treating hypothermia while unhoused" There is a drawing of a house with the writing "Housing is a human right" on it, and the SAFE logo is on the bottom of the cover.

NEW: I’m excited to announce a new project I’ve been working on, the Seattle Sweeps Open Data Repository. This open-source data set contains records related to Seattle’s policies of displacement against unhoused people.

LA mutual aid rallies to protect unhoused folks from fire dangers
Groups of “everyday people” are fanning across the region & passing out much-needed supplies like masks. Many mainstream outlets are not covering this, read @phoenixctso in @LAPublicPress:

When homeless people’s property is taken, it is often fatal. The city has policy in place to safeguard homeless people's property that they are not following.
Last Friday, a judge denied the City’s motion to dismiss Coalition on Homelessness v. City & County of San Francisco.

In the midst of all this chaos, the city of LA is still conducting sweeps against our unhoused neighbors.
Ppl are asking us for a replacement tent and a dog leash while it's literally raining ash bcs the city took their only shelter away during this inferno.
I am so disgusted.

Everyone needs to know that today thousands of mutual aid organizers are keeping LA safe during the fires while having to deal with threats by the police: sweeps on the unhoused in the morning, ICE raids in the afternoon, now an armed National Guard-enforced curfew at night.

In times of crisis, the mutual aid community always gives me hope.
There's a giant group of people coordinating mask drop off, food, water, temp housing, pet food/care, and even insulin for strangers just because it's the right thing to do. No one is coming to save us except us.

This is embarrassing for the city government. Completely unprepared for crisis & lacking infrastructure (see budget) to handle it. Mutual aid groups are the ones saving people in this city.
