Without providing activity for his mind and body, the cat may react with rough play, potentially resulting in bite/scratch incidents. - This designation often means that the cat will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption.🔥🔥🔥🔥 I love to be loved, but on my own terms! Let's brush up on some feline body language together! A volunteer writes: Milo wants to be part of the action, he just isn't always sure how to explain that to people. This is relatable and I feel for him. He's a go, go, go, go kind of cat who wants to do all this going at his own pace. Milo's improved quite a bit since coming to us and seems characteristically eager to demonstrate this through repeatedly leaping off his den with a flourish. Since I wasn't entirely sure where Milo was going with this, I offered a pipe cleaner feather, which happily kept his interest for a few moments before he decided nuzzles were better. Then he decided that it was probably best to see the town, as it were, leaning his whole little cat self over my arm in his efforts to get just a tiny bit better view. He needs supportive care in a veterinary clinic to recover. He is not thriving in the care center and continues to display distance-increasing behavior when approached for interactions. He has not warmed up despite staff using treats to build a positive association. NOT EATING/APPETITE ISSUES ARE A DEATH SENTENCE IN THE SHELTER. I am looking for a home with a patient person. Princely is not open to interaction at this time and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. Because his previous owner reports he is friendly, playful, and talkative in a home environment, we believe the behavior seen in the care center is shelter-specific and this cat would make a great pet but is really struggling in the shelter environment.
