#BFTWNI POTY - 2024 The Sunflower Pub, Belfast. This used to be the old Tavern bar, famed for being about the last of the Belfast pubs to have a security gate at the front door, harking back to the 70s era. As such it had been the frontage for some films shot for that era. It has now been refurbished, still with the familiar exterior design, but holding on to an old fashioned backstreet and unpretentious bar atmosphere, something sadly missing in the city. A brilliant and eclectic example of an old fashioned street corner boozer, highly regarded for its relaxed atmosphere and varied social activities. A keen supporter of real ales very well maintained by owners who have been trained in the handling of cask ales. A well deserved award indeed. @Sunflower_Pub #caskisback #caskale #supportcask #standupforcask #oncask #supportlocalbusiness #supportlocalni #BFTWNI

Big callout to @Sunflower_Pub for their support

A dander past Kelly's for a quick look-see but the Deagio products ("usual suspects") put me off. Carrying on and @Sunflower_Pub & a chat with mate Ricky. Noticing that @NigelSommelier has a twin brother sitting here supping what appears to be an Erdinger. Anyway, a stunning pint of Modus Mosaic all the way from @marblebrewers bringing back memories of a certain cracker pub in my youth.

THE HUNT FOR CASK OCTOBER #caskisback #caskale #supportcask #standupforcask #oncask #supportlocalbusiness #supportlocalni #BFTWNI @Sunflower_Pub A mostly untouched example of a Belfast back street boozer from years ago. A very popular and friendly place with an eclectic mix of weekly entertainment. Famed for its security gate and the No Topless Bathing sign, it is well worth visiting. Great cask ale as well.
