USDOL HAS NO WAY TO PAUSE H-1B LIKE THEY DID PERM
On October 22 we showed the eight companies frozen out of PERM. The freeze stops their green card filings. Their H-1B filings keep moving.
Federal law lets Labor review an H-1B filing "only for completeness and obvious inaccuracies." If the form is filled out right, Labor must certify it within 7 days.
PERM has a pause button in the regulations. Labor can suspend processing while a fraud investigation runs. H-1B has nothing like it.
These eight companies had more than 23,000 certified H-1B filings from October 2025 to June 2026.
Congress wrote a 7-day rubber stamp into the law. Only Congress can add a pause.
