Hanukkah is a time of peace and joy, not of pain and grief.
It is in that spirit that David Seymour, Mark Mitchell and I joined members of Auckland’s Jewish community this evening for a prayer and candlelight service.
It has been a heavy day for the Jewish community in New Zealand. Tonight, our thoughts are with Jewish people in Australia, and with Jewish communities around the world.

Thank you, @chrisluxonmp, for the kind and reassuring letter on the occasion of Ukraine’s Independence Day. Through candid dialogue and fruitful partnership—despite the geographic distance—we are successfully bringing our countries closer and ensuring better protection for the Ukrainian people amid this unprovoked war. We highly appreciate all the support provided by New Zealand and your readiness to contribute even more.

Most dairy farmers donate to IHC, but the local charity I support have asked for a bit more publicity. I know very few Mid Canterbury farmers will see this, but I'd encourage all farmers to find something local that's meaningful to them to donate to (if you're not already)

From Stuff “.Close to half of all mortgage-holders are due to refix their loans in June, Willis added, which equates to more than half a million loans.”
No way this is right. Haven’t seen the clip so not sure whether journalist got wrong end of the stick when it came to answer.

Thank you President @ZelenskyyUa for the call and warm congratulations this evening.
Australia remains steadfast in our support of the Ukrainian people and our commitment to a just and lasting peace for Ukraine. 🇦🇺🇺🇦
I spoke with Prime Minister of Australia @AlboMP.
I congratulated him on a convincing election victory and thanked him for keeping support for Ukraine in focus. Ukraine values Australia’s role in the Coalition of the Willing and needs the unity of all our partners to achieve a just and lasting peace.
I informed Mr Prime Minister about the consequences of last night’s Russian drone attack. Strengthening air defence remains our key priority to protect our people, and we count on our partners’ support. We also discussed ways to further enhance Ukraine’s security and defence capabilities.
We talked about the importance of securing the release of all those taken captive by Russia. We must bring everyone home.
I invited Prime Minister Albanese to visit Ukraine, and we agreed to stay in close contact. I am grateful for the support.

A very poignant and important point: Indian bravery at Gallipoli (along with Kiwi, Australian and other nations') must be honoured.
Our amendment to the Anzac Day Act will address this historical anomaly and unfairness. Lest we forget.
On #AnzacDay we honour not just the ANZACs but also the forgotten #Indian heroes who stood beside them at #Gallipoli
From #Sikhregiment to mule corps, their bravery shaped our shared history.
#LestWeForget we forget their sacrifice.

Act are right on this one. Split up LandCorp, return the land to Māori #landback
Landcorp has delivered an extremely poor return on the taxpayer’s investment for many years. An independent review in 2021 found the organisation failed to meet financial forecasts, had high corporate costs, and invested in unprofitable off-farm ventures. No private operation would be able to continue to fail like this. Landcorp is taking taxpayers for a ride.

No one will ever give up their nuclear arsenal now, and many more nations will pursue one since western guarantees aren't worth jack.

London. A meaningful and warm meeting with Prime Minister @Keir_Starmer.
During our talks, we discussed the challenges facing Ukraine and all of Europe, coordination with partners, concrete steps to strengthen Ukraine’s position, and ending the war with a just peace, along with robust security guarantees.
A principled statement of support from the Prime Minister and an important decision: today, in our presence, Ukraine and the United Kingdom signed a Loan Agreement. This loan will enhance Ukraine’s defense capabilities and will be repaid using revenues from frozen Russian assets. The funds will be directed toward weapons production in Ukraine. This is true justice – the one who started the war must be the one to pay.
I thank the people and government of the United Kingdom for their tremendous support from the very beginning of this war. We are happy to have such strategic partners and to share the same vision of what a secure future should look like for all.
