A statement regarding this week’s inadequate bus frequency and capacity on routes 30 and 33.
We call on @BeeNetwork to increase frequency during tram works as a matter of priority.
The 30 has left more people behind this week than it picked up.
@SalfordCouncil @salford_mayor
Vernon couldn’t even get down the road to @MediaCityUK from Piccadilly Place to interview @sweeneysalford in the flesh, probably because it would take over 2-hours to do a 20-min trip.
Surprisingly, there’s only a 90-minute wait for a 30 bus towards MediaCity tonight.
This Thursday 29th, Transport for Greater Manchester’s Transport Commissioner, Vernon Everitt, joins @sweeneysalford in the Hot Seat to take your calls and questions 📞☎️
We think he has a lot to answer for last week’s organised chaos on 33 & 30 routes.
Listen on BBC Sounds.
Instead, he appeared by video call like we’ve all had the choice to do this week, because we all have cars and no one gets public transport when it’s completely on its arse in a city!
Proper faith in the @BeeNetwork, right there.

⚠️🚧 Portland Street continues to be closed this morning.
Expect severe delays and diversions to regular bus and tram shuttles throughout the day.

No buses are running through Piccadilly Gardens Bus Station this evening. TfGM staff are on hand to direct people to some of the stops where services have been rerouted. Below is an image of one of them on Princess Street.

Just to let everyone else know, like @SalfordCouncil, @QuaysLabour, @QuaysLibdem, @salford_mayor.
Tonight is the icing on the cake, and a complete failure.
We KNEW they could have run deckers on the 30, they did it in July, then decided the route was different, when it wasn’t.
REVEALED: After only a 10-min Google search, the GMTM can reveal that @BeeNetwork and Metroline ARE wrong.
The 30 bus DOES NOT follow this route where the low bridge is on Hampson St.
INSTEAD; the bus turns onto Regent Road, NOT ahead on Ordsall Lane, and NOT Middlewood Locks.
Severe delays.
Due to a water leak on Portland Street, buses in the city centre are being diverted.
Information on the disruption and diversion routes will be available shortly at: beenetwork.com/travel-update…
There has been a leak here for weeks, if not months.
And finally it has fully popped.
Who’d have thought with all those buses running over it?

Water continuing to pour out of the main and onto both sides of the road now. Looks like disruption will continue for most of the day @MENnewsdesk

Dupes are failing to follow 30s at peak times and single deck BZLs are still way over capacity, more often than not @beenetwork.
There is literally no excuse now.
If it’s ‘all-electric’, then get some decker BZLs on this route immediately.
Enough is enough, beyond sub-par.

Have @BeeNetwork increased capacity on the 30 and 33 routes after being heavily overcrowded?
Or have they continued to not listen to customers, continue running services at an absurd and inadequate frequency like the trams are running, and leave us behind?

Opinion: This looks like a positive rather than a negative, especially near the busy Christmas season where people forget to look both ways.
Before the 2nd City Crossing, Exchange Square used to have a road through it.
Do you prefer it now with the tram, or then with the road?

RESULT: A week late, but duplicates are now running.
Great news for passengers.
