As the UK was set to announce sanctions on Israeli settlements, predictions grew that condemnation and a backlash was coming from the White House.
So far, it hasn’t happened.
We tried to examine why…

📢Personal news 📢 - I’ll be leaving BBC staff at the end of August . I'm working on a book proposal with @davidhigham and I intend to work freelance for the BBC and others in future.
I’m proud of the original and investigative work I’ve done over decades, with brilliant colleagues, breaking stories on so many issues on @BBCR4Today and @BBCnews. I'm especially proud of my recent work on Family Courts. It’s changed the law - helped open up these powerful courts to all journalists - and I plan to continue with it. You can find me here, on Linkedin and at [email protected].

This is NOT an official decision but rather a formal request for action.

For years, the Assad regime denied our pain, denied our demands, and gaslit us about their arrests.
